On St. Valentine's Day my girlfriend surprised me with a VHS copy of bloopers from TDVDS. Some of it is outtakes, and some of it is just plain goofing around by the cast! It's short though. It's on a tape with other shows, and TDVDS portion only takes up just under 11 minutes of space. It's still nice to have.
There's a great one with Mary trying to get her lines right without giggling. She's so beautiful!
The tape is titled, "Super TV Bloopers."

I would love to see that... I wonder if they were conserving tape in those days, because many bloopers actually made it to the air. Off the top of my head I remember Rob dialing a telephone number before he'd looked it up in the yellow pages. And in another show (sorry I don't remember all the titles), when Buddy and Rob have to work without Sally because she's guesting on the Stevie Parsons (?) show, there was some dialogue between them in the office that I'll bet was ad-libbed.

Buddy and Rob were getting on each other's nerves (also, Mel comes in to check on their progress on the script and there's a rare occasion where *Rob* insults him), Buddy gives Rob some ideas he'd written out and Rob says something like, "Why don't you read so I can write it", which though hilarious, sounded as if this happened: DVD blew the line, Morey took it and ran with it, and then all bets were off as they played the rest of the scene by ear.

Also, in "Turtles, Ties & Toreadors" (one of my favorites) where the Petries get a Spanish speaking only maid, I wondered if Dick was working after dental surgery or something, because I noticed he kept saying "Barthelona" instead of "Barcelona". I'm sure there are other bloopers but I'm not coming up with them now. But it's one of the things I find so endearing about this show (bloopers fascinate me). Unlike other old sitcoms, this one never grows old because I find things I never noticed before every time I watch a show.

Actually, in some dialects of Spanish, that's the correct way to pronounce Barcelona. It's very annoying though! LOL

Sally,
I think it's very astute of you to notice that! Since I was a kid, I've noticed those quirks about the show. How they'd basically blow a line, but just keep going, or even almost bump into something on the set, including each other. And do you notice how often they'll continue talking after a joke while the studio audience is roaring with laughter? Most of the time you can't even tell what they're saying, but when you can, it turns out to be at least as funny as what they just said.
It does seem that they were "conserving tape" or something, doesn't it?
Incidentally, remember in episode #103, "The Alan Brady Show Goes To Jail," when Rob and Laura do a dance number chained together at the ankles? They were in perfect sync then, but Dick confides on the T/L dvd bonus that he was sooo nervous, because during rehearsal, he'd kicked the wrong way, and literally flattened poor Mary. He thought he'd hurt her pretty badly, but she got up and apparently, even through the pain, well, we saw the rest!

I *love* bloopers. I remember in episode #6 "Oh How We Met That Night We Danced" Rob is entertaining the troops and he screws up on the word 'pickpocket' and he laughs a little.
