View Full Version : Best Pilot episode
nimrod_86 03-16-2003, 02:14 AM What would you say is the best pilot episode?
I would have to say Dinosaurs-The Mighty Meglalosarous or King of the Hill-Pilot, they were both awsome.
Unwanted Angel 03-16-2003, 03:07 AM Three's Company and 8 simple rules had awsome piolts...

LucyFan 04-01-2003, 01:22 AM The best pilot ever for a comedy series I think is either Three's Company or Laverne and Shirley because both shows introduced the characters with an established storyline that provided all-out comedy from start to finish. Also, they were consistently funny and had hilarious results!

W.J. Griffin 04-05-2003, 03:56 AM For my money, the funniest tv pilot would have to be"The Beverly Hillbillies" pilot, "Clampett's Strike Oil". Indeed, the first three episodes of this series should be required viewing for all tv writers!

Kristen 01-03-2006, 11:23 PM I can't believe I'm the first person to mention The Mary Tyler Moore Show, "Love is All Around," and Murphy Brown, "Respect." Both episodes introduced you to all the main characters perfectly. They're both classic episodes, IMO. And I'll also throw in the Wings pilot, "Legacy." Again, a perfect intro to all the main characters. Some shows have a so-so pilot, but these 3 are great right from the get-go.

slackermonkey 01-09-2006, 12:33 AM "Frasier" has one of the best pilots I've ever seen.
The "Scrubs" pilot also does a great job of setting up the show and its characters.
Michael72581 01-09-2006, 12:58 PM Another show I forgot to mention in my first posting that had one of the best pilot episodes was "Soap".
tv star collector 01-09-2006, 07:59 PM For my money, the funniest tv pilot would have to be"The Beverly Hillbillies" pilot, "Clampett's Strike Oil". Indeed, the first three episodes of this series should be required viewing for all tv writers!
I would have to agree. It's a tough call, but I'm also going to go with THE
BEVERLY HILLBILLIES. Several laughs, but I think the highlight was when the
Clampetts mistook their mansion for a "prison"!
