 Well, I was already the editor of the Bob Denver page at TVTome.com, and I just volunteered to edit the pages of Alan Hale, Jr., and Russell Johnson (the only 2 from Gilligan's Island that didn't already have editors). If you guys have any info about them that you would like to share with me, please do. Julie, I know you're a huge Russell Johnson fan, so if you can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

BTW, I wish the guy who edits the "Gilligan's Island" page at TVTome.com would step down--I'd like to do it, LOL.

Thanks, Julie. If you don't mind, go over to the page and look at it--it's pitiful right now. Here's the link:

I just got confirmation this afternoon that I can be editor, and the only thing I've done so far is get rid of the crappy picture they had. I've uploaded a better picture, but it hasn't shown up yet--I think the webmaster has to approve them before they show up--at least that's what seemed to happen when I took over Bob Denver's page. I'm dying to get hold of the GI page--it seems like the guy who set it up wasn't much of a fan. I think I could do the show some justice, LOL.

If you see anything that's wrong, or have any personal info, that would be helpful. It says he's "married"--that's really informational, LOL. I know his wife is Connie, and I know he had a son, David, who was the first AIDS coordinator in LA, and he has a daughter, and that he served in WWII, and that he lives near Seattle(?). I plan to go to his site and get some info and start reassembling the page over the next few days. Alan Hale's page is in even worse shape--that's why I decided to edit them. You should have seen Bob Denver's page before I started with it.

OK--I've written a book here--thanks for your help.:D

Yay, way to redo those pages!

It bothers me when people sign up for stuff and then don't do it - let someone who's interested Edit those pages... Way to take over!

I edit a page at TVTome too! Of course, it's not GI related in the slightest... so I'll just shut up now. Hee.

look at me....way to be doing my english essay! lol. oh well...i need a break. i hate Gatsby.

without actually running and getting Russell's book....(which i will later when i get a chance) i can give you what i know.

his daughter's name is Kimberly...she's into acting (or at least she was when he wrote his book). he has a stepson Courtney, and a grandson Max (Courtney's son). His first wife, Kay, died in (i think) 1980....but i'm not sure of that, i know it says somewhere online. he lives on an island somewhere near Seattle....i'm not sure if the name of it is mentioned or anything...i'll check. he was a second lieutenant (and later first) in WWII. he earned the purple heart when his plane was shot down over an island (i'll find the name) and shrapnel broke his ankles (OW!). he got some other medals too....i'll find those for you if you want.

i could type out a lot more....but i'm not sure how much of it you already know or have found somewhere. his site isn't the best for info about him.....some of the other online biographies i've seen are a lot better. i'll get out the book and see what else i can find for you later. there's a lot of info about his school life after his father died, and about how he got into acting.

i wrote a couple of diaryland entries about the book...with stories and stuff that i copied directly from it. i don't know if it'll help....but maybe to see it in his words.

lol...disregard the crazed fan-ness of my entries. :D

Thanks again, Julie. That's a good start for me. I' m going to do some searching on the internet. Right now, I have house guests coming on Wednesday, and I'm trying to get this place together, LOL. So I may not be able to do much this week. I have Bob Denver's book, so his page was fairly easy for me. I just ordered "Inside Gilligan's Island" by Sherwood Schwartz--it should be here in about a week (free shipping from Amazon is great but slow, LOL). Hopefully that will help with both of these pages. I just hated to see their pages sitting there, with nobody to edit them. Neither had very much information, plus all kinds of misspellings and problems. Bob Denver's was the same way when I took it over. (I keep saying "took over", but all I really did was volunteer to be the editor--there was no editor for that page at the time.) I'm not trying to sound smug--I just think the previous editors could have put some more effort into it.

If I may ask, what page do you edit, Courtney? And have you had problems getting pictures to load? It keeps telling me that it only supports .gif and .jpg, but I'm using a .jpg. Oh, well, back to housecleaning.

Oh, I edit the page for Maureen Frawley. She was on a few episodes of "Love of Life" back in the late 70's when she was, like, five. She's also my current religion teacher and "bud" - we're tight. LOL.

Um, pics didn't cause a problem for me. I put one pic up (I'm in it too! LOL) and it wasn't a big deal... maybe it's you. Just kidding... I donno why it doesn't like you. Sorry...

Very cool!

I don't know why the picture won't work. I remember it took a few days for the one I put on Bob Denver's page to work, so I'm waiting to see what happens. I may need to get some help from their webmaster.

Oh...so was it you who put the link up to my site (Bob Denver - The Fan Site)? Thank you! When I saw the link there I was sort of shocked because this is my first "big" website that I've created. :) I'm so glad to know that people are finding it and enjoying it.

I'm glad you're happy, LOL. I usually like to ask people's permission before I link their sites, but I was trying to get the page together quickly.

I think Bob and Dreama Denver have a link to your site on their webpage, too.

I'm slowly working on Russell Johnson's page, but this is a crazy week for me. I have house guests coming tomorrow, and I'm such a procrastinator about getting the house in order, LOL. I'm "treating" myself to 20 minutes on the computer this morning while I eat breakfast, .

Yeah...actually, I emailed them about it. They were extremely courteous about linking me.

Yeah, I e-mailed them, too, about linking the TVTome page. They were very nice. I think it's great that they are so considerate of his fans.

Well, I've been making slow progress on Russell Johnson's page. He has a ton of movie appearances, both theatrical and TV movies. It's taking me a while to get them all typed in, because I keep going back and forth between TVTome.com and his IMDB page. Maybe I should print out his IMDB page? Hmmm.....

Alan Hale has even more movie appearances--his page will take forever, LOL.

lol....appearances i would NOT want to list. there are tons!

i don't know if you still need this stuff....but i finally went browsing through his book to look for a few things. because i'm lazy and don't feel like typing, and because i love technology (when it works), i just took pictures of the pages. there's a lot of useless information (for your page anyway...not to say things Russ says are useless...lol)...but i figure you can get anything you might need from them. the first part is about where he lives, the second one is about his war medals, and the third one is the Actor's Lab stuff. i dunno if you wanted the dates or anything, but like i said...you can just pick out anything that may be useful.

Thanks for sending this, Julie. I'll need to write a short biography for him soon, then add some links. Then I think the page will be finished. The stuff you sent will help with the biography. Then I'll move on to Alan Hale's page. He has a lot of appearances that need to be added, LOL.

Thanks again!
