at the end the boys get a puppy why is it not on any other episode after that

i've always wondored the same thing but in a later episode i think they said the reason was because they didn't take care of it.

i herd ward say in the episode where beaver wanted to keep that dog that whitey gave him that they couldn't take care of captain jack so they had to give him up.
