Does anybody but me does not like the idea of certain stations having "exclusive rights" on TV shows? I think that this prevents sitcoms from growing, and reaching a bigger audience on syndication. For example, "Boy Meets World" was on local syndication for about only 6 months, and then Disney Channel bought it- ALL OF IT. "Grace Under Fire" was on local syndication, but Oxygen swapped it- and hasn't even aired it.
I've noticed that Disney has been the one that continously does this.
The following shows have been bought with exclusive rights:
"Boy Meets World"
"Mad About You"
"Designing Women"
"Golden Girls"
"Sister, Sister"
"Clueless"
"Grace Under Fire"
(feel free to add more)
I'm not sure about the following, but I think that "ALF," "Wonder Years," and "Who's The Boss?" are also entirely owned.
