What is your all-time favorite episode of I Love Lucy and why?

My favorite episode is LA at Last. The scene where Lucy dumps the dessert tray on William Holden is acted so perfectly.

I love every one of them so , it's really hard for me to choose , but , since I have to it would be episode#25 (Pioneer Women. It's the one where Lucy and Ethel bet their husbands That they can live the life oof their ancestors. My favorite part is when the actual 8 ft. long bread loaf pins Lucy against the counter.(I went to Universal Studios and bought a book on Lucy , it tells lots of stuff about every episode , so e-mail me and I'll tell you every thing I know.)

I like the original "lost" pilot best. Don't ask me why.

my favorite episode was the candy factory And the episode when lucy and ethel were in italy and they wanted some clothes by some rich designer and ricky and fred made them clothes that were potato sacks. It was really funny and it made me laugh so hard. Thats the reason i like that show.

All of them are really my favorites, but my two favorites are when Lucy tried to tell Ricky about her having a baby, and then actually having the baby.

"Pioneer Women" is my favorite. I love when the bread comes out of the oven and she is trapped. I have bookends of it!

I don't remember what it's called, but it's when they all go to France and Lucy uses countefiet money and doesn't want to eat the snails. And then they had to translante everything four times.

My favorite sentimental episode is called"Lucy is enciente". Where Lucy tries to
tell Ricky she is pregnant with his baby.
The end really gets to me. Ricky is so excited about the the baby that it makes him even more sexy than before!! He always took
such good care of Lucy!

One of my many favorites is the Vitamitavegamin episode. I Love it when Lucy
acts intoxicated!! She is AWESOME no matter what she does!!

I Love the episode where Lucy finds out she is pregnant because I know Lucy and Desi's
real life struggle of getting their baby. I'm
going through the same thing and I know it hurts bad!! After all the pain,they finally
get little Ricky! It was so romantic how Lucy told Ricky,even though it would have been nice to tell him in private like she
wanted to.

In Lucy does a commercial(Vitamitavegamin episode) I Love it when Lucy acts intoxicated! She is so AWESOME,no matter what
she does!! She acts like me when I'm drunk!

MY FAVORITE EPISODE IS WHEN SHE GOES TO THE HOSPITAL.

'CUZ IT IS SO SWEET, HALARIOUS, AND INTERESTING.

I THINK IT IS FUNNY 'CUZ EVERYTHING GOES SMOOTH WHEN THEY ARE PRACTICING AND RICKY SAYS "THE TIME HAS COME!!!!" AND SHE SAYS "I THINK ITS TIME."

ITZ COOL THAT SHE HAD HER BABY THE SAME DAY AS LUCY RICHARDO DID. IT WAS A TOTAL SUPRISE TO DESI!!!!

My favorite episodes are L.A. At Last, Job Switching, Lucy Does a Tv Commercial, Lucy Goes to the Hospital, I like a lot more though. I tape I Love Lucy so I have seen all of them.

I love every single one...but here are my top ones...

My all time favorite is when Look magazine wants to take pictures of the ricardo apartment. Lucy makes the place look like a pigsty, even has ethel in the corner dressed up and lucy comes out wearing the short hair wig, gross teeth, overalls, and starts singing.. she even pretended to kill an animal.... i died of laughter...
another funny one... when they are into the astrology and lucy refers to everyone as numbers(ethel was number three i think) so they have the siance the bring back mr. merrywether's wife, but it was really the dog..it was so funny.
the pioneer one was hysterical....only lucy would do that!

Any of the road trips, which includes LA, Europe, Florida, and even the permanent trip to Connecticut. The later episodes were, by far, the best.

I absolutely love the one where Lucy tells Ricky she's pregnant because the ending is SO real! Makes you almost want to cry. And to think they almost used an alternate (funnier) ending. My second favorite is the second episode "The Girls want to go to a Nightclub". The scene where Ricky and Fred are trying to chase off their hillbilly blind dates (Lucy and Ethel) is one of the funniest scenes in the whole show. #12- The Adagio is also great. A Frenchman and a Latin dueling over you. Wouldn't that be nice!

My favorite is Lucy with the loving cup in her head on the subway. She was hysterical. My 2nd favorite is the one where she is in California and she meets William (Bill) Holden in the restaurant. The both of them were so funny. Then when Ricky wants to introduce Bill Holden to Lucy she disguises herself by putting putty on her nose. When Ricky sees Lucy come out to the living room with that long nose his eyes bug out. Then she is striking a match trying to light a cigarette and lights up her nose instead. Hysterical!!!!!

I like them all. My ultimate favorites are: when Lucy and Ricky are handcuffed, and when Lucy redecorates with wallpaper trapping Ethel, and lucy driving the lawn tractor wrecking her neigbhors garden.

My favorite is probably 'the Diet'. That was the one where Lucy thinks she is too fat so she goes thru heck trying to lose weight so she can be in Ricky's show. The reason it is one of my faves is because i LOVE the Cuban Pete/Sally Sweet number, abd when Desi and Lucy start doing the rhumba, you can see that they are really enjoying it and really love each other, even tho their marriage was crumbling at the time. You can see the admiration in Desi's eyes as she dances. I am gonna register just as soon as I finish this posting; this is a GREAT group!!

There are many great episodes, but my favorite is the one with William Holden in Hollywood. The scene with her nose was a riot.

There is *one* of my favorites I have not seen on this thread, and this is where Lucy tries to fake a burglary in the apartment and calls Ricky at rehearsal, who calls the Mertzes to check on things. Then she tries it a second time, throwing things around and overturning chairs, and hides on the ledge outside the window. Ricky comes home and gets a call from a neighbor asking if anything is wrong because his 'peculiar' wife is sitting on the ledge. So Ricky, Fred and Ethel then talk disparagingly of Lucy and get her all upset before she comes back in with the look of a mad bulldog. But Lucy's eccentric stubbornness still will not let her admit she faked the whole thing, even though it was so obvious. She refuses to play bridge with the other 3 and goes outside to sulk, then 2 hoods come down and grab her. She screams and yells right outside the apartment door, but Ricky just says, "There she goes again!" Finally she comes back tied and gagged and none of them will believe her story. This makes you forget about Aesop and assume the "Lucy" writers invented the idea.

My favorite episode I think is called "Lucy's Million Dollar Idea". It was the one where she and Ethel create that Mayonnaise and Lucy dresses up as her old Aunt Martha and does the commercial.

I haven't seen too many episodes, but I love: "First Stop", where the Ricardos and Mertzes are stuck overnight in a ramshackle cabin that shakes and rattles whenever a train passes by; "Paris at Last" - the next to last scene in a Paris police station, where 4 interpreters are interpreting Lucy's version of the "counterfeiting" scheme is a riot; the dress episode in Paris; when Lucy and Ricky move to the country and, in order to get Ricky's deposit back, Lucy, Fred and Ethel dress up as gangsters......gosh, there are way too many to name; I love them all!

I really LOVE the final scene in "Lucy is Enceinte"; Lucy and Ricky (Lucy and Desi) look so in love, and so happy. That scene is just filled with tenderness and joy.......

THE PUTTY NOSE EPISODE WITH WILLIAM HOLDEN! I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THE WHOLE BIT WAS IMPROVISED. IT WAS HYSTERICAL!

Lucy claimed several times that setting her putty nose on fire in "LA at Last" was not supposed to happen. But, the bit was written in the script. Dunking her nose in the cup of coffee was improvised however....

Wow, this is *so* hard to choose! I know Vitametavegemin is by far one of my favorites, the look on her face the first time she takes it and that little shudder the third time she tastes it are priceless! I can't agree with everyone more about all the other episodes mentioned. I love all the trip ones and the seance episode, Lucy's Schedule, the chocolate factory, The Barbeque, the one where Lucy keeps 'jelling tiger' http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif and hides on the ledge, The Kleptomaniac (the whole cookoo scene is hilarious), ah! I could go on for ages!

And just for fun....

The loaf of bread in 'Pioneer Women' was, believe it or not, real. They had some special bakery make it for them, I forget the name.

And I remember reading somewhere that the final scene in Lucy is Enceite (sp?) was filmed where Lucy and Desi were truly crying and showing so much real emotion that the producers wanted to go back and retake the scene, but the audience (all teary eyed as well) all stood up and yelled 'No!'. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Good for them! "Happy Birthday Mrs. Mertz, and I hope you live another 75 years!"

My favorite episode is "Lucy Plays Cupid". It's hilarious how Lucy goes out of her way to discourage Mr. Ritter. Mrs. Lewis was very funny too. This episode helped establish the personalities of Lucy and Ricky, their war of wills, stubbornness, and how far each would go to have their own way. It's sad that Fred and Ethel were not in this, but it is still the best.

I too LOVE EVERY SINGLE EPISODE, but if I had to pick just one, it would be the two part episode with Lucy stealing John Wayne's footprints, but again, it was SO hard to choose just one!

Three come to mind, actually:
1. When the Ricardos sell the Mertzes their washing machine.
2. When Lucy & Ethel go to charm school.
3. When the Ricardos are late going over to the house of the prospective buyer of the Tropicana (played by Gale Gordon) because Lucy turns all the clocks back one hour (rather than forward) so as not to be late. Lucy's so hungry while they visit that she bites into a wax apple, which naturally becomes stuck in her widely opened mouth.

I love the way she does that shudder too, and the way she gradually changes her reaction to it in each take. Haha!... can't imagine anyone else doing that scene so well.
