did it ever say where they went and why did the Actor and Actress leave the show

Unless I totally missed something, the tv show never actually said where they went. Only one reference I can recall was made in the syndication version. During the episode with Fran's funeral, Thelma says "...No Buzz and Sonya..." So the syndication version didn't do a "Chuck Cunningham syndrome," thank goodness, and we are suppose to believe they moved away.

As to why the actors didn't return, I have no idea. I hope someone here knows and posts the reason because I would love to know as well.

According to Vicki's book, the first thing producer Joe Hamilton did in getting MF ready for syndication was to lose the kids. But to keep young people interested, he hired Alan Kayser as Bubba. :)

Thanks Byron! I had no idea. When it went into syndication, it lost a lot more than the kids. But I won't go there. :cool:
