John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes were simply amazing. They were geniuses of their own time.

BTW, is it just me- or does Jimi Hendrix remind you of Redman as well?

Mark Heard, one of the finest Christian musicians and lyricists you've NEVER heard. His lyrics and music were very intelligent and likable. Which was why the Christian music industry tried to ignore him in his lifetime. A definite cure from the sugar-shock Christian pop. If you can, try to find his 80's releases, Victims of the AGe, Ashes and Light, and Mosaics. He even had very cool one-man-band release called Ideola. He combined folky songs with very decent rock & roll tunes.

About Ginger Bond, vocalist for A*Buse*Ment Park.
How do I describe their music? Well, as a rock reviewer about 10 years ago, I went to see them and found their unique brand of metal very loud, edgy, violent, and yet with a groove--and yet that doesn't do justice. They had an album out called "I Am Not What I've Been Taught", with some great songs like "Round 13",
"Psycho In a Riot", "Murder Show", and others. Ginger was a very theatrical performer. Their shows were always a hit.

I miss Aaliyah the most, I love Selena and miss her in a different way because I never heard of her before she was killed I wish I had. There is also one singer who passed away waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before I was born but I don't think anyone mentioned her, I wish she was alive today. I also wish I could sing so I could sing her song "Sweet Dreams" which is my favorite and she's my favorite singer of all time.

Wake up? Wake up? The current year doesn't have anything to do with it - Lisa Lopes, while her death was very untimely and tragic, was definitely not a genius.

Thank you!!!

Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes created some of the best lyrics this world has ever heard. She was one of the last few rappers to actually rap about emotions, hardships, and life-- not about getting hot in here, or about being a "wanksta."
Take some time and listen to "Waterfalls," "A New Star Is Born," or any other TLC song.

She might not have had an impact like the Beatles, but her talent and courage shouldn't be forgotten or denied.

Waterfalls
(McCartney)

Don't go jumping waterfalls
Please keep to the lake
People who jump waterfalls
Sometimes can make mistakes

And I need love, yeah I need love
Like a second needs an hour
Like a raindrop needs a shower
Yeah I need love every minute of the day
And it wouldn't be the same
If you ever should decide to go away

And I need love, yeah I need love
Like a castle needs a tower
Like a garden needs a flower
Yeah I need love every minute of the day
And it wouldn't be the same
If you ever should decide to go away

Don't go chasing polar bears
Into the great unknown
Some big friendly polar bear
Might want to take you home

And I need love, yeah I need love
Like a castle needs a tower
Like a garden needs a flower
Yeah I need love every minute of the day
And it wouldn't be the same
If you ever should decide to go away

And I need love, yeah I need love
Like a second needs an hour
Like a raindrop needs a shower
Yeah I need love every minute of the day
And it wouldn't be the same
If you ever should decide to go away

Don't run after motor cars
Please stay on the side
Someone's glossy motor car
Might take you for a ride

And I need love, yeah I need love
Like a castle needs a tower
Like a garden needs a flower
Yeah I need love, said I need love
Like a raindrop needs a shower
Like a second needs an hour
Every minute of the day
And it wouldn't be the same
If you ever should decide to go away

Don't go jumping waterfalls
Please keep to the lake

Those songs are completely different, but only have the same "theme" in common. I wouldn't be surprised if TLC found inspiration from listening to Paul McCartney, or any other Beatle. Which genuine, and good artist doesn't? TLC, or Paul McCartney weren't the only artists to make references to life as "waterfalls", etc.

BTW, in my opinion TLC's "Waterfalls" is way better, McCartney II is honestly some of his worst work.

I still consider "Left Eye" as one of the best artists this world ever had.

I concur on McCartney II. The only standout track from the album is "Coming Up." I'm not too familiar enough on TLC's "Waterfalls" to make a real judgment on it. Obviously, I'd be very biased toward Paul, though, so why try?
