View Full Version : SBTB Mentioned on Other Shows
SBTB Geek 03-12-2003, 04:24 AM Last Monday night, "SBTB" was mentioned on UPN's "Girlfriends." The episode was about one of women that found a love interest which happened to be a "B-movie" actor. He said, "I'm an idiot, I quit college after getting just two lines on 'Saved By The Bell'." It was also mentioned again, but I didn't catch the full phrase.
I also remember that "SBTB" was mentioned on "Clueless." One of the professors made a reference on how not everything is as good as the original- a male character gave an example using "SBTB"-- "yeah, like the original Saved By The Bell class rocked, and the new class just sucks."
Do you guys have any others?
SBTBGoddess 03-13-2003, 12:10 AM Yes! I remember that on Clueless as well.
I also remember it being referenced in an episode of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Carlton was upset about him, his father and Will having to go camping on the weekend (from what I can remember) and he whines and yells "That means I am going to miss SAVED BY THE BELL!" LOL It was a funny line.
And I know it has been referenced in a couple WWE events as well.
SBTB FOREVER,
Erika
KellyKapowski 03-13-2003, 02:07 AM i remember in that one episode of fresh prince where ashley is doing the soda commercial and no one wants her to do it so they're talking to her replacement and she's making fun of ashley and says something to the extent of 'you should go home and watch saved by the bell.' i can't remember what she said but it made me laugh.
SBTB Geek 04-01-2003, 09:53 PM I just remembered that in one episode of MTV's TRL, they had "Screech Day" and decorated the whole set with SBTB/Screech memorabilia.
atwa10692 04-02-2003, 03:06 PM i seen a re-run saturday night live on comedy central, actually it was yesterday. there was a sketch about great achievements in film and they were talking to screech (played by Toby Maguire) about the great film SBTB Hawaiian Style. It was pretty funny..
Agent 99 04-19-2003, 11:20 AM Oh, I wish I had seen those references! :) I know it's not a TV show, but I loved the SBTB mention in Scream 2. The camera man for Gail Weathers (Courteney Cox's character) was freaking out by talks of the murders and took a break, saying "I'll be back when y'all find a subject more Saved By The Bell-ish...".
mkazan 04-20-2003, 01:37 PM one time on hang time, julie turned on the tv and the saved by the bell theme was playing and she turned i off and said "ive seene evry episode like 50 times"
SBTB Geek 05-04-2003, 04:01 AM On the May 2, 2003 telecast of E! News Live- they had a segment about what's coming up on TV, and then one of the correspondents-- Giuliana made an exited, "YAY." Then the male correspondent (don't know his name) said, "Don't get too exited Giuliana, it's not a "Saved By The Bell" marathon. You know you like that show." Then she responded, "Yeah, in-fact, I do."

That was a hilarious sketch they had on SNL. I've been trying to find a video clip of it since it aired a couple years back, but I haven't had any luck.

barwars 08-14-2003, 11:51 PM Carlton's reference was pretty funny.
Did this show have any spin-offs or characters from different shows on it?
Like Petticoat Junction and Green Acres did??
ilovethe80s 08-15-2003, 08:16 PM I think i remember more shows it was mentioned on i think it was mentioned on Mad About You once and i think some other shows i am not sure
ilovethe80s 08-15-2003, 08:17 PM oh i didnt already know you had that one
ilovethe80s 08-15-2003, 08:18 PM You probably mean Clueless the show not the movie right?
Small Wonderian 08-19-2003, 02:13 PM What about "Malibu, CA" where Dennis Haskins was running for mayor against Murray and Murray kept referring Dennis as "Mr. Belding". :)
MacLeaper 09-23-2003, 11:21 AM What about the episode of Hang Time practically devoted to Saved By the Bell?
It was one of the later episodes and it had Dustin Diamond guest starring as himself (though everyone kept calling him "Screech")
Some of the Hang Time gang were working at a movie theater and the big movie playing was Saved By the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas!
Dustin Diamond was there was one of the stars of the movie and so everyone on the show also knew him as Screech from Saved By the Bell. It was very funny and I'm waiting for it to rerun on ABC Family.
