So we've all heard that they're starting bombing on Monday right? They're gonna start bombing, and my mommy can't come back from India. She left to go to India last week, and if they cancel the flights, she can't come back....We don't even know if they can fly people over the Pacific. They have to let her come back. I've been crying for such a long time. There's gotta be some way she can come back, right? Please tell me there is...I don't want her away from me. I want my mom back.

The odds are very low that Monday will be the beginning of anything. They're going to finish up that last UN vote. That'll take time. They might try to hold out (and I hope fail) for Turkey to vote again because of the new election they just had. And the 17th was a tentative date with no meaning and no backing by anyone but the 4 guys who set it down. They're trying to give Blair some breathing room and changing that date is one of the few chances for them to try and do that. Anything can happen but with all I just told you, I think chances are good that your mom will be able to get back. My fingers and toes are crossed!

Gee, you'd think they'd let Americans get home! They let people in more volitile countries come back. They let traitors come back! You think they could get one flight to let your mom come home. If not, than this country is worse than I thought.

No one.... we are bombing Iraq starting on Monday. Not a smart move on my opinion but this isn't a political thread so I won't starting arguing.... But, there is a good chance the airlines may be closed, you never know what could happen.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all this. No one's bombing India, but there's a chance that the airlines will be closed and she can't fly over the Mideast anyway so we don't know what's going to happen.

I've called up Lufthansa a couple of times, but they say that they won't know anything till next week. I can only hope for the best. I've never spent such a horrible time without her. She is my pillar of strength. She's kept me so grounded and so focused and I don't see how I can last even another week without her. I love my mom so much. I need her back.

Thing is my mom's not an American citizen. If they'd evacuate anyone, it would be them and my mom doesn't count in that. Do you think they would since she has her greencard?

I hope you read what I wrote earlier. I just read more on the timetable subject and it looks to be leaning more toward stalled, as I'd hoped.

Maybe you should call the Immigration Service. Tell them your situation and see if they can give you some official information as to what you might expect. That might calm your fears.

Daisy, you're a strong woman; although you worry about your mom and do need her, she's always with you in your heart and your mind.

I want her to be there with you, and I honestly hope that she can return home safely to be with her family as soon as possible.

I hope she'll get back, there's no way the american government would leave citizens stranded in foreign countries so close to war, however, if more time is given to Saddam- everything will be looking bright. Good Luck.

Good Luck. bUT- even if your mom's not an american citizen, the government of the country she's a citizen should help- no one who isn't aware about foreign countries and would find it hard to live there long should ever be stranded.

Awwww.....:bighug: You poor thing. How about Fonzie and I go over there and get them to let your mom come back? You know Fonzie can do anything. :D

They are! My mom is my best friend. In fact, in my birthday card this year she wrote (among other things), "Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter and best friend." I wanted to cry! :)
