View Full Version : Already in Las Vegas
LVLucyfan 03-09-2003, 02:35 PM I don't know about anywhere else, but they have already arrived in Las Vegas, "The Gambling Capital of the World!"
I can't wait 'till I turn 21 to gamble on a "Lucy" slot machine!
LVLucyfan 03-09-2003, 02:36 PM The I Love Lucy slot machines that is!
dawsongirl 03-09-2003, 06:55 PM Cool. I'm 23, so I'm heading of to Vegas to stuff quarters into the Family Feud slots and the ILL slots. :D
But if it's like the I Dream of Jeannie slots I tried to play on in Kansas City, they'll all be full.
LVLucyfan 03-09-2003, 08:14 PM Yeah,
Now that you think of it, I went to a local casino here in Las Vegas, (where I live) to have dinner, and ALL of the I Love Lucy and I Dream of Jeannie slots were FULL. There was a line for the Lucy ones! Do you know what hotel you're staying at? I might run in to you and not know it!
dawsongirl 03-10-2003, 12:50 AM oh, I didn't mean I was heading out there now, but I'd like to sometime. Maybe after I graduate in May. Have fun before I have to find a job. :D
What casinos have you been to?
LVLucyfan 03-10-2003, 01:24 AM I moved to Las Vegas when I was six. I am sixteen now. I have been to almost ALL of them. Except for the really OLD ones like the Stardust and the Riviera. But, I'm sure you've never heard of those though!!!
SPLAIN 03-10-2003, 11:36 AM Geez, when i was your age, there were only four or five of those places around, recently i saw a lamination of the STRIP and it looks awesome nowadays. The Lucy slots were all they needed to complete the picture.
dawsongirl 03-10-2003, 05:07 PM Just too bad they tore down The Sands. Tons of old time Hollywood history there. I have a clip of some show that did a story on The Sands and they had a clip of Lucy walking in with...someone. I don't remember.
LVLucyfan 03-10-2003, 08:13 PM Claude,
I didn't know you posted here. This is your friend Michael in Las Vegas. I guess you know my age now.
Yeah, it's too bad The Sands is gone. I never got a chance to go there. The Rat Pack, and almost all of Hollywood hung out there.
Dawsongirl, I believe that person you were talking about with Lucy at the Sands was Danny Thomas. I have a picture of her there. Was it some sort of anniversary party?
I also have a picture of her & Desi at The Copa Room, which was the famous nightclub at The Sands, attending a Dean Martin concert.
I am sort of the un-official history buff on Las Vegas. Ask me anything you want to know!!!
SPLAIN 03-11-2003, 12:10 PM There was this one GREAT picture with Lucy in a shimmering top with Danny Thomas in the background and in front was Frank and Sammy and Gary among others, i think Jack Entratter was there too, he was a big guy in Vegas right? I think he was even in Desi's wedding photos.

No idea. The clip was REALLY short. But it could have been.

Cool. I could ask you why I wasn't at the MGM when Richard Dawson was, but you wouldn't know that! :D

Jack Entratter was the big name producer at the Copa Room in the Sands. He was responsible for bringing big name Hollywood acts to Las Vegas. The Rat Pack for one.
Let me find those two pics of Lucy at The Sands, and I'll post them here.

Yep, 21 in good old Las Vegas. 4 more years and I'm there! :D
SPLAIN 03-12-2003, 11:21 AM Seing as you know everything about Vegas Michael, how about where do we go to get a picture of the new huge strip with all those beautiful hotels and that great looking street with all the hotels and the lookout and everything, my barbershop has a lamination of it and is not to be believed.
LVLucyfan 03-12-2003, 05:35 PM Claude,
What do you mean it's not to be believed? Do you not believe that so many MEGA hotels are joined together on one street?
Give me a minute, I'll find a web address where you can believe!
SPLAIN 03-13-2003, 10:59 AM It's just that i saw this laminated poster and it's fake, id like to see the real thing because that strip and that city are not to be believed! I like flashy, but that place gives new meaning to the word.
