For those of you who have TI-83...How do I graph something like xy=4?

The instruction booklet is confusing.
Thanks.

Yea, like Chris said, try to get the'y' variable all on its own by diving 'x' by both sides. Come on Jenny, I thought you were a math whiz. :D

I hated them dang calculators! I had to pay $100 for one for a Trig class in college and I ended up dropping the class because it was so confusing.

Yeah, you always have to get 'y' on a side by itself.

We weren't allowed to use graphing calculators until we hit Advanced Algebra. They make things go a lot quicker, but they can also mess you up something fierce. I don't trust the lil machines.

Oooh, so blah blah blah always have to equal "y?" I didnt know that.

Here's another dumb question... where's the equal sign? LOL
I know ENTER serves the purpose, but how do you type it out?

you don't need to type it out. There's already a "y equals" there, you just have to enter 4/x

LOl, this is true. But, I still wouldve have bought one anyways. Me & Amanda were the only ones w/o one of those calculators, and when we did use one, we didnt know what the hell we were doing anyways! LOl

What if I wanted to solve an equation like 4+x= 6 How would I type that equation in?

Well, I don't think you need a calculator for something like 4 + x = 6. Just switch the 4 to the other side and change its sign so it becomes x = 6 - 4
