View Full Version : E! Child Star special features Brian Robbins, Rain Pryor, and Tannis Valleley
Pavan 03-04-2003, 02:24 PM "E! Original Special: More Child Stars of 1980s" -- For those who loved our first walk down memory lane, there're more child stars where those came from. This "Back to School" themed edition of child stars features class reunions with the stars from: Head of the Class, Fame, Doogie Howser, and Life Goes On. These and other featured stars have lived intriguing lives since their TV teens. Shavar Ross ("Dudley" from Dif'rent Strokes) became a church pastor; Brian Robbins (Head of the Class) is a major Hollywood producer, with credits that include "Smallville." Rain Pryor (Head of the Class) acts and lectures against drug abuse; Tannis Valleley (Head of the Class) is a casting agent; Carlo Imperato (Fame) owns a string of Gold's Gyms; Chris Burke (Life goes On) plays in a band. We'll also update the lives and times of several child actors, including Josh Brolin (The Goonies), and Nia Peeples (Fame), who have become adult stars.
Premieres Monday, March 10 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on E! Entertainment. (1 hr.) (Rating TBD)
realchic1999 03-07-2003, 12:17 PM I have been wondering what Tannis Vallely looks like now. The last time I saw her was on "Teen Win Lose or Draw" (Marc Price as the host) in the late 80s-early 90s.
warsaw dreams 03-10-2003, 06:25 PM I saw Tannis not that long ago on a show called The List on VH1. I still want to see the E! special
ThomasE 03-10-2003, 11:08 PM Is it going to come on again later?

warsaw dreams 03-11-2003, 11:37 AM I thought they did an okay job. Of course, HotC didn't come on until the very end and they could have talked a little more about Brian Robbin's and Dan Schneider's careers. But I guess I'll take what I can get! I also liked that they showed pictures and film clips from behind the scenes. They showed the 100th episode party and pictures of the cast out on the town.
realchic1999 03-11-2003, 12:58 PM I know they were going for "save the best for last," but it was the longest wait to see updates on some of the cast. Tannis looks like an older version of herself (if that makes any sense), but poor girl's hairline looks like it's already receding...and she's not even out of her 20s yet.
I like Rain Pryor (though I know a lot of you don't), and she looks and sounds JUST like her father.
Not only do I think Brian Robbins loves da sistahs, I think he is into the whole black/hip-hop culture, period. I noticed in a few shots he was wearing a shirt that said "PHAT." As a sistah, I have no problem with that.
They had Leslie Bega and (surprisingly, with her phony self-->) Robin Givens, too.
I'm surprised Khrystyne Haje wasn't one of the ones featured on this show. Simone was a popular character.
warsaw dreams 03-11-2003, 04:30 PM Brian Robbins is actually married to an African-American woman named Laura Cathcart and they have two sons. They are really cute! You can see their picture under Brian's profile at the Internet Movie Database.
realchic1999 03-11-2003, 09:09 PM Boy, do I know it. I've seen the picture of them together before and they do look cute.
He also dated Holly Robinson and Robin Givens during his HOTC days, as well.
warsaw dreams 03-11-2003, 10:38 PM Yeah, that E! special had a film clip of Brian with Holly Robinson back when. They were even engaged for a while.
Karenlynn 03-21-2003, 01:45 AM The E special with HOTC actors is on again. I have seen it about 5 times since it first aired. I wish they would have shown what happened to Simone and Alan.
Jennyluvver 03-22-2003, 02:54 AM I heard that Khrystine Haje (or however you spell her name), who plays Simone, invested in computer stocks back when she was on HOTC and, as a result, she is quite wealthy now.
Karenlynn 03-22-2003, 03:21 AM Yeah, you are right. I read that she is a quarter owner in a Silicon Valley company. She actually grew up in Santa Clara, Ca. not too far from where I live.
