LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "Friends" romantic rivalry will get a new focus this spring when Aisha Tyler guest stars in several episodes as a paleontologist who becomes the third point in a love triangle that also involves Ross and Joey.
Tyler, a former host of E!'s "Talk Soup," currently hosts the syndicated dating show "The 5th Wheel" and is currently shooting the independent film "Never Die Alone" opposite rapper DMX and "Friends" star Courteney Cox's husband David Arquette.
Despite the number of single women in New York, for the past two seasons, the characters of Ross (David Schwimmer) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) have both been sniffing around Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), the most recent mother to one of Ross' illegitimate offspring. In the past, Joey also sparred with Chandler (Matthew Perry) for the affections of an actress named Kathy played by Paget Brewster ("Andy Richter Controls the Universe").
Not that it's a sign, but Kathy chose Chandler and Rachel only accepted Joey's accidental marriage proposal because she was emotionally vulnerable immediately following the birth of her daughter, Emma.
"Friends" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
