I'm finding myself thinking about all those nights Fonz spent out on dates. Notice, he played the field and he was cool. When Jenny tried it, everyone labeled her as pathetic. Does anyone else find this to be a double standard?

Actually? Yeah...I've often thought about how the guys were always boasting about going to the alamo (or in some cases *not* going to the alamo, which they wouldn't even admit!), but Jenny was never looked at as a "hero" for womankind by not being attached and wanting to, um, let's say...explore. Actually, I think she's kind of gutsy! :)
I mean, aside from Fonzie's character (cause it sort of goes without saying for him), this was the goal of many of the guys on the show, even when they didn't have steadies (and when they didn't make it up there, they were nerds...well, they were nerds anyway, but you know what I mean). I don't think that Jenny was ever "cool" for what she wanted to do...but I've always kind of thought that it was neat that she didn't feel the need to be attached, but she was pretty aware of what she wanted.

You're right, but Fonzie was looked as being this cool guy who could get the girls because of his amazing confidence. Jenny was looked as being someone with low self-esteem and she fell for every guy who walked her way, though Fonzie did the same. It's complicated, but they're both very alike.
I wanna say that i think Jenny's got confidence, but I know that there are girls at my school who hit on every guy and my friends & I turn our noses up at them, but then again we're best friends with the guys who have different girlfriends every week (mostly because then we're immune to their attractions).
