AGH! Can someone help? There was a show in the mid 90's that was about a wealthy family in the 1800's or so and there was no mother, just the father and his children, I know at least one daughter. The theme song to the show was sung by like Sara McLaughlin or someone like that. The plot always had one of the good looking hired hands falling in love with one of the rich guys daughters. Thanks!

I believe that you are referring to "Legacy". It aired on UPN from 1998-1999. I really enjoyed watching this show during its brief run. The theme song was performed by Loreena McKennitt. The black housekeeper (who was romantically involved with the oldest son of the patriarch) was played by Sharon Leal. She currently plays one of the teachers on Boston Public.
