Who else loves this episode?
I watched it last night, at midnight, with most of the lights off. It was spooky. I watch it every Halloween when it comes on TV Land. And, I've seen it enough times where I know every line of dialogue!
It's one of my favorites!

This is also one of my favorite episodes! I love it when Rob says, " Buddy? Sally? Laura? Mama." My kids also love this episode! Lolac

Definitely one of my faves. I love Buddy when he's scared.

BTW, here's a little trivia from that episode: Name the famous comedian mentioned in the show.

It's Lou Costello. Rob tells Buddy to stop acting like Lou Costello and help with the bags. I love this episode. It is one of my favorites! :happyface

You got it, Lolac! Great episode and hilarious stuff from Buddy.

BTW, I always get the impression that we are missing at least a few seconds of film when TVLand shows that episode and Rob makes his "Lou Costello" comment to Buddy. It seems like they very abruptly cut to that statement from Rob, and I always get the feeling we are missing something funny from Buddy just before Rob says that. But thus far TVLand seems to splice right into Rob's comment, without us seeing what Buddy has just done.

There are several episodes where it is obvious it has been edited to cut down on time. In the episode "Sally is a Girl" there is a blatant edit by TV Land. I, too, look forward to the DVDs so we can get the full episode. I have the M*A*S*H seasons 1-3 DVDs and I am really enjoying them. I also have the Columbia House "I Love Lucy" DVDs and the Mary Tyler Moore Show season 1 DVDs. They are so much fun to watch with no edits and no commercials! I'm with you, B&W fan. I am really looking forward to The Dick Van Dyke Show on DVD. C'mon, Doug, let's hear some news!!! Your patient fans are still waiting patiently! Lolac

and here's how it was born. One night, my dad (Sam Denoff) was reading to me (i think I was 7 or 8), from the Golden Book Encyclopedia. The topic was GHOSTS and I said to him "Dad why don't you write a story about Ghosts for the Dick Van Dyke Show.?"

The result is 'Ghost of A. Chantz'!

enjoy
