View Full Version : Question for eBayers
Warm & Fuzzy 03-01-2003, 11:32 PM How much time should I allow, before an auction ends, to bid so it's a guaranteed win? I tried 1 minute on one bid and 45 seconds on another...but by the time I placed the bid, the auction ended. There is no way it took me 45 seconds to hit "Place Bid."
Are the ebay-clocks correct?
Max Whittaker 03-01-2003, 11:44 PM Can't say. You could always "buy it now". right?

yeah that happened to me
DarleneIllyria 03-02-2003, 01:30 AM That's a really good question. Um, usually I try to get online like 30 minutes to an hour before an auction is supposed to end and I bid like 10, maybe 15 minutes before it ends.
Brian 03-02-2003, 01:47 AM Wait a second. I thought you had to be at least 18 years old to be registered at Ebay?

Wait a second. I thought you had to be at least 18 years old to be registered at Ebay? It's not my account; it's my friends. I just use it.
She didn't want her account anymore, so she gave me her password, I changed the username and took over. ;)

Is anyone else a seller there? I just started selling things there last week.
Nanny Fine 03-02-2003, 11:19 AM Open 2 browsers. After you open the page to the item you want to bid on, put one on the place bid portion. Put your bid in and click place bid. You come to the page where you have to confirm your bid. MAKE sure you are already signed in already. On the other browser you open it to the item you want to bid on and reload it constantly for the last few minutes. That way you can see how much the bids are, if it's getting any last minute bids, etc. When it's about 25 or 30 seconds to go, you go to the other browser and click the confirm button. When it reloads there should be very few seconds left and you should win the auction (if you put in a high enough bid amount)!
Hope that helps. So far it has worked every time for me.
