Nick@Nite bites the big one. The do whatever they want with no consideration for their viewers. They edit the crap out of shows to air more commercials. They skip entire seasons of shows. They pull a show from their schedule as soon as you've fallen in love with it.
I just watched five complete months of Barney Miller, only to have them not air the 3-part finale...some lame thing about a bomb in the episode.
They worship the almighty Cosby. They treat Coach like a red-headed stepchild.
Sorry for the rant. Yes, Aaron, it's a safe assumption that Pri...Nick@Nite is skipping episodes.

they did the same thing with Diffrent Strokes... I hope they don't screw around too much with Cheers...and they do worship Cosby...I mean Cosby is a good show, but still they treat it like the mother of all 80s comedies! gimme a break!
(By the way my name on here used to be dixiefan4eva...thanx to whoever told me how to change it!)

Maybe it would be better if Cheers was on TV Land. TV Land shows all the episodes of Happy Days that N@N didn't show, so they'd show Cheers without skipping much. Of course, it would be better if everything on N@N were on a 24 hour cable station devoted to modern TV classics instead of sharing airspace with kids shows. They could call the new station Modern TV Land.

I totally agree... I wish I had one of them things that like freezes a TV show if u have to do something in the middle of it and lets you watch whatever show you want whenever...I 4get what they're called but I need one of em! Then I could watch Cheers all day!! lol...watch their'd probably be some catch to it...

I'd say they're skipping episodes. They skipped nearly 100 episodes just in the past week. On Monday, they were in the middle of season two. Today, Saturday, they're in the middle of season six. It's absolutely atrocious how they treat Cheers these days. Nick at Nite used to be a respectable channel. It sure isn't anymore.

Excellent, that I am not the only one to notice.

They aired the final 3 episodes last week, but then went suddenly Bizarro.

If there is a theme to this past week--well, then I missed it.

The show should have flipped over to the very beginning.

Yep they are skipping eps. But that is why I tape em. It's like when Jackass started, I knew it would be a great show from the start, but also knew that after seeing a couple episodes, it was not gonna be around long. So Cheers will end up the same way, but that is what the vcr is for. And SCREW the cosby! I hate that show. Same eps they play over and over again. And they never had any real drama or problems. And different strokes, couldn't stand Gary Coleman. He needs to get a reality check cause he keeps saying that he has grown so much after that show, BULL ****! That show made him. and he has done nothing since. It's funny how off topic my post was but hey, you know me.......

I don't watch much Cheers anymore, but they did the same thing to The Cosby Show when that started over. I am SO not defending them, but sometimes they skip over episodes to air them in a special, or something, and they have a limit on how often they can air an episode each rotation, so, there are so many considerations to take, well, under consideration.

Oh, they've also done the same thing to All in the Family.

I'm just as frustrated as you guys are. It's riduclous, I mean WHOLE SEASONS are skipped now. TV Land isn't any better. They still skip a LOT of episodes. I dont' even watch Andy Griffith, but they skip like 5 episodes at a time every couple of days. Leave it to Beaver skipped over at least 10 episodes for no reason.

It's so damn annoying, ESPECIALLY if you're trying to tape something. I find it interesting, that TBS can air Mama's Family for 6 years and they air every episode, every single time (well, they skip one episode). Yet TVL and N@N skip all these episodes? I'm finding it very fishy that it's contractual. Right.

And Coach, they are treating it like crap, just like Family Ties. Wings will get the same treatment (unfortuntately) I guarantee you. I mean, N@N doesn't even air seasons 6-9 of Coach. This is what, the second time they've skipped them? I've heard that the rights to Coach expire next year, so maybe they didn't get all of them (like Charles in Charge).

Sorry for the rant, but it's so frustrating anymore.

There there (patting back) I am so mad at NAN,theyscrew up their schedule so much. Just when I was celebrating the return of Diane, nan pulls the plug. But they are only showing 2 eps per season andgoing on so it will be back to Diane in a short time. Man this will take me so long to recover.

there has 2 be a reason why they skipped so many eps. this rotation.
i mean, soon we're going to see the finale again! (if they dont skip it!)

they're skipping the better Lilith episodes, which has me mad. I almost missed I Kid You Not and The Cranemakers, but we're not going to the mountains so I can see em (lucky for me)

Skipping episodes? *nods* Yes. Yes, they are. Am I surprised? *shakes head* No. No, I'm not.

Although I do like the later seasons better, I was really anticipating the return of Coach. *sigh* Oh well. I'll just go back in my little corner and watch the episodes I have on tape.

I'm not happy that N@N skipped episodes. :( They also should bring back Laverne & Shirley. @ least Happy Days is on TV Land & WGN. Charles In Charge should be on after Cheers! Love ya Sammy! (& everyone else too!-except Rebecca)

Correcting myself here. Barney Miller airs on TV Land, which is Nick@Nite's evil twin.

Cool down, Shelley's #1 Fan. Get out your DVD of Troop Beverly Hills. It's going to be okay.

I've been thinking that it would cool if a station like WGN Superstation picked up Cheers. Imagine if this were to actually happen? Cheers on 2 cable stations. We would have nothing to complain about. Between 2 stations, it might all even out.

Guess it's only on Houston's WB but I've been seeing some eps that N@N never showed such as the Christmas ep where Sam was looking for a present for Rebecca, Norm was working as a Santa, Frasier was bitter because he didn't believe in Christmas (till the end :D) and Cliff believed that he would get a free trip to Orlando by getting Chinese food cans (Then he chased the plane throwing them at it as it took off). But on the subject of N@N I was hoping they would show more Diane eps because I haven't seen some of those. I've seen nearly every Rebecca ep.

Yeah, not all WB affiliates show Cheers, which is why I love my lil' Houston WB so. The only problem with the WB (at least Houston's affiliate) is that they butcher the episodes. I know some of you are asking yourself, "They can cut the episodes more than N@N?" And the answer is yes. Yes, they can.

Anyway, back to the original topic. N@N does skip a lot of episodes, though I've never seen them skip as much as they have recently. It's usually just a few episodes here and there. It's kind of odd that they would pass up the Diane years almost entirely. I suppose they favor the Rebecca years for some reason. Maybe, like someone said earlier, it's because of the ratings.

My thoughts, exactly.

They showed the final three episodes right around Valentine's Day.

I expected them to then start right at the beginning, but instead they show the middle part of the Rebecca Years.

I don't get it.
