I hate to say this, but it's the truth. :crying: If anybody wants to write Fox and tell them how you feel, e-mail me and I'll give you the address. Maybe we can make them reconsider!

pandora_spocks 02-28-2003, 06:09 PM I'd suggest an online petition, but it seems that they never really work anyway. :crying:

I was worried about that, I thought the second season would come out in March, but when I didn't hear any further news about it's release, I was a bit curious. I would have liked to buy the second season, hopefully it will be released in the near future, if they decide to bring it back.
Leigh Ann 02-28-2003, 09:01 PM I'm so disappointed about this :crying:. I was gonna ask it for my bday, but I guess it won't happen now. I hope it'll be released in the near future.

Didn't I say (I think it was to you ) that I was afraid something like this would happen? This is why I delayed purchasing the season 1 DVD (but I'm glad I have it anyway).
All I can say is... SIC 'EM BOYS!! --> :livid: :angryfire
joefriday 03-03-2003, 04:52 PM I'll bet the 1st Season didn't sell because it cost too much. Most of the season sets out there, like Sanford & Son, All in the Family, Mad About You, The Jeffersons, all sold for around $22.99.
I recall paying $34.99 for the 1st Season of MTMS. I didn't have a problem paying that, but I bet others did...!!
...just a thought !!

I was so tempted to buy it today in FYE, but then I looked again and they upped the price to $49.99. I could swore that the last time I was there it was only $39.99. Oh well, I'll buy it on eBay. I also looked in Wal*Mart today as well, but then didn't have it at mine. :(
Kristen, can I borrow yours?

Sure! Do you have a Best Buy near you? They seemed to have it pretty cheap.

Yeah, but it's quite a long drive. Actually, my friend Tiera was telling me that Best Buy had second rate merchandise. Like their cds and stuff were scratched when you bought them new. Maybe she was just talking about our Best Buy although I never really had any trouble with them, but then again I don't go there that often because its so far away. I'll just stick to eBay.
*ShortCake* 03-19-2003, 12:13 AM I just wrote a letter to them.. thanks Kristen for the address ;).

In all fairness, you really can't compare the prices of the other DVD sets, simply because there were no extras on them. With the MTM DVD set, we got Trivia (with the surviving cast members), commercials, a documentary on how the show almost didn't survive, etc.
I suspect part of the hike in price was to supplement the costs for those extra features.
To me, whether it's $35 or $45, it's worth it if you're a fan. Now I only hope maybe a compromise can be reached and perhaps FOX can test the waters by putting out a Season 2 DVD with no features, have it be cheaper, and then see how much is sold. I bet there'd be a difference. Sadly, though, I liked the extras. They're almost as valuable as the episodes themselves, particularly since in the coming years when more of the cast passes on, this will be one of the few real-life glimpses of them in real life.

Ed,
I don't think I could've said that any better myself. As for the price, I totally think it was justified. There were tons of extras so it wasn't like they sold a crappy thing for that much money. You got what you paid for and then some! Of course, I would've found a way to get the DVD's no matter the cost, but that's just me.

Sad but true, most tv networks consider online petitions one letter. Most prefer well thought out hand written letters(which most people don't have the time to do).
I say every little bit helps. If you're a fan of the show, I agree it's most definitely worth the price, cause you are getting more for your money :)
ClesStahn 05-22-2003, 08:30 AM Yeah, as I was reading these posts and saw that the MTM DVD costed/costs 40 bucks and 50 bucks, I thought that was crazy, as I just bought the All in the Family 1st and 2nd Season DVDs for less than that. But now that I see it has EXTRAS, I can see why it's a little more expensive. See? It's little things like that that one sometimes never finds out, so thanks for posting that, ED.
