Who liked the finale and who hated it?

I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't like it either. I just thought it was so-so.

I know most people didn't like the finale, but I loved it. It was great seeing characters from episodes past.

Ingenious! They brought back all of those people. They Intertwined all of those stories from the past. And that brought home one of the main themes of the Seinfeld show, which was the obliviousness and the self involvement of the main characters. I don't think they could have won an overwhelming approval for the last episode, because the hype leading up to it was out of their control. I'll bet if they could have sprung the final episode on us without our knowing it was the final episode (An impossibility) it would have gone over big. Except we all would have been pissed at them for not telling us that the show was done with, lol.

I loved the finale too.
The plot of the final episode reflected what the audience had been witnessing all along - these four characters are so caught up in their own little world they have no idea they have wrecked so many lives because of their behavior, and they finally get their comeuppance.

Brilliant!

As if they would lock up Elaine with the rest of the guys. And notice they were all wearing their own clothes and not prison garb!

One of the cleverest episodes of the show. I should have taped it..

I hated the way it ended. I think this was the one show that shouldn't have even HAD an ending, it should have just been a regular day and a regular episode.

For once a show that doesn't end with someone getting married or having a baby that is so lame already

i thought it was pretty good, but not one of the best in the series

When it originally aired, I was a bit disappointed, but after watching the finale a few times, it's actually not that bad, although, in terms of pure comedy, it didn't live up to the hype, IMHO.

As a side note to the finale, I was just wondering though, when Jackie Chiles (Kramer's attorney) is shown in bed with Sidra (played by Terri "they're real, and they're spectacular" Hatcher), could this have been the first time in sitcom history that a black man and a white woman were shown in bed together? A friend of mine pointed that out, and I can't think of any other instances of this occurring. Anybody know?

If this were the first such occurrance, it's kind of amazing that it slipped past everyone...NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT, MIND YOU...I'm just surprised that no one in the entertainment business commented on the historical significance of that scene...

According to my rating website, the episode gets 4 stars out of 5 with 5 people voting.

Good observation Tweety, but didnt Benson and Ms. Krause get jiggy with it in one episode? I think it was an ingenious episode, not the best, but not bad. It was supposed to be the last episode, not the greatest. Also the last line was also the first line, about the shirt buttons and the stand up comedy returned. A lot of thought went into it. Seeing Bookman and the Soup Fascist again was hilarious.

I don't know. I'd call it average. I think it should have ended like Cheers, nothing changes, but still a great episode. The thing that annoyed me was that they tried to bring back every little joke that the show had done.

I hated that there had to be a finale! :(

They should come back, Elaine and Kramer are up to nothing and George is hawking Chicken for goodness sake. Jerry's wife probably spent most of his money by now so he could also be interested in a comeback. Well if Jordan came back again anything is possible.

I think they should just leave the series just like it is. Sometimes reunions don't live up to the hype.

A series should revolve of its own volition - and this one did. The last show was overhyped but it was great

What do you mean, SOMETIMES? :)

Has ANY reunion EVER lived up to the hype?

I can't think of even one...

A Seinfeld reunion is something that will never happen. Julia, Jason, and Michael were all bitter towards Jerry for ending the show, I doubt they would agree to a reunion. But I think a Seinfeld reunion would be a success but if there is going to be one, don't expect it for at least a decade.

Cheers... that's the way you end a show.

Seinfeld... there hasn't been a finale as bad since Seinfeld, becaus everyone learned what NOT to do.

At first I was disappointed the way it ended. But after thinking about other endings nothing would have seemed right and I like it a lot.

I'm with the ones who thought it sucked when it aired, & now with 7-8 years of perspective, I like it much better.

At 1st it was like they just tried to run every schtick from the series. At least they tried something different & original, yet kept it Seinfeldian, and different from the other typical sitcoms that try to go off the air bizarro-like.

Also, we knew it before, the the finale really made us aware and look back at how our fab four truely embraced a "callous indifference and utter disregard for everything that is good and decent that has rocked the very foundation upon which our society is built"
Nice group ;)

Words of wisdom from the Maestro. If you think that was good you should see him to Flight of the Bumblebees.

The episode itself was average, definitely not what you'd expect from the finale for "The Greatest Show Ever." It did have some good moments, particularly when Kramer was jumping around trying to get the water out of his ear, nearly causing the plane to crash. And George, being "efemminite(?)"kneeling in his seat, turning around to talk to Elaine.

The worst thing about the episode was the fact that the gang had to just sit at a table and watch what was going on, they hardly talked at all for a long while. They should have at least testified. Jerry would have been a smart a$$ and Kramer could have fallen, George would have blamed Jerry that could have been funny.
