I have a question to anybody. Have you ever published something before? Like a book, poem, picture, anything?

Some of my poems are published in various books.

I've had a poem published. I've had articles I wrote appear in newspapers, but I think that's different. I've got dreams of being published, though.

I do have a screenplay in the works, though. I'm hoping it will turn out well. So, far, so good. But, I've only just begun writing it. I might attempt to sell it if it seems good enough by the end. Keep your fingers crossed.

I have those aspirations as well (then again...I've got armfuls of unfinished novellas! Got to *finish* them before you can do anything with them! :)) Aside from that I used to work for a publishing company...

Hey CG! Yes, I worked for a small publishing company called Spring Publications for five years (I ended my stint there in October, sadly...quite a learning experience, I assure you!). I began as an intern my senior year of high school (because I really enjoyed psychology, Jungian psychology to be exact, and that's what we published...Jungian psychology, archetypal psychology, mythology, classical Renaissance translations...). I moved up from being an intern to being office manager, then on to Assistant Managing Editor (ie; jack of all trades. But I got to write copy and proofreading was an essential part of my job. I'll tell you--I can't even read the tv guide without finding typos!). My last job there was Sales and Marketing. One of the highlights of this title was travelling to England, Montreal, and Switzerland to meet with our distributors (as well as the ones in New York). Simply marvellous! Travelling alone (as a 19 year old, at the time) was something that opened my eyes and changed me forever.

Aside from learning about the publishing business (and sadly, the near-death of the small publisher...I'm not a huge fan of Barnes and Noble--they're on the brink of killing your neighborhood bookseller as well as small publisher), I grew up a lot, got to meet interesting people and go to fascinating places. Unfortunatly, this job didn't yield the kind of money that one would need to survive (hence, one of the reasons that I am in college now!). Still, what I learned with this job helped make me the person that I am today, and opened my eyes to the world around me as well as the world of business when I was still an adolescent. It was cool! :) I could probably blabber more, but I'll shut up now! LOL.

yearbooks are published so yep.

There is a 9th grader at my school whose mother is an author. Her name is Debra Ginsberg and she wrote two books. One is called "Waiting" which talks about her experiences as a waitress while trying to earn money to publish her first book. The other is "Raising Blaze". "Raising Blaze" is about her autistic son and how she raised him. He goes to my school and is in my art class.

Published in a university literary journal several times (I was co-editor), published articles in school newspapers in community college, letters published in the local newspapers, concert reviews
in local music magazines.

I feel like I'm doing my writing resume over...

I've had about nine works of poetry published in various books and soem online and I even had one go international. I have also had one of my photographs published in the International Library of Photography...I aspire to continue having poetry submited and published.

My dream has come true.. i sent in a written copy of this book i am writing and they agreed to buy it from me for 6,000 and publish it...Its a romance novel so look for it in stores sometime in August...Its called "An affair to remember" Harliqin romance bought it from me... I am so happy my dream has come true.

I've got a big dream to write screenplays and teleplays. Deep down, I think I just want an excuse to meet celebrities...grovel at their feet..... tell them how awful, erm, I mean awesome they are. :D

Wow, CG...I've actually thought about that before! The plan's been rolling around in my head for awhile. Best of both worlds! :)

as for me well I had a few short stories published in our local Newspaper but thats about it

I was watching The Princess Diarys last night and Erik wason it...
He was kinda hott in those little shorts he was wearing

I've published poetry.

When I was in second grade, a poem I wrote was published in the local paper. Good God, it was horrible. :blush:

Lucky! I want to be a writer. Not really Harlequine. I write romance, but not quite like THAT.
