This is going to sound really strange but I had a pap test today and was told that I have two cervixes:eek:. I found some info on the web that made me feel less like a freak. From what it sounds like instead of one big uterus I have two little ones. I am going in for a ultrasound for it in March. Has anyone else heard about this or have it? Sorry if this post is sort of gross, but it's been bugging me all day.

I wish I could give you advice Sara, but this is the first time I ever heard of having two cervixes. I just read on a website that it doesn't impair fertility...so that's a good thing.
Good luck on your ultrasound.

I've never heard of this, but I am sure it is quite possible. Don't be afraid; your gyn knows what he/she is doing and remember to ASK QUESTIONS if you have any--that's what they are there for! Don't walk out of there freaked out, you don't need to be. Everything is going to be just fine. :)

And the gyno isn't scary...the pap only takes a little while. It's better to have it done sooner than later. Women who don't go for long periods of time have a greater risk of having complications--cervical cancer can be fatal if you don't go and have things checked out and you happen to have it!

So go, get it over with, and feel good. :)

I've never heard of having two cervixes. Hey, do you think if you have two cervixes, could you have two babies at once? I found this article on the internet. A woman can also have two uteri and two vaginas, as well.

Actually...I have heard of that before. I'd never met someone with it, but you know....

It's not dangerous, I dont think. I dont really remember what I read about it, so who knows. But I'm sure they would have told you about it if there was something incredibly wrong.

Well, in a pap smear, they just...scrape cells from the opening of your cervix to see if anything's abnormal. It doesn't hurt, it's uncomfortable. I really hope no guy comes on this.

LOL. I don't think any guy would *want* to read this!

Well, you can't be sure with some of the guys here. I know some of my guy friends are so intrigued, they'd follow me when i say i'm going to the doctor (even if it's the dentist!)

Well, I guess that inquisitive nature could be a good thing then, rather than them just thinking that it's "yucky woman stuff" or something!

lol!! i doubt they would...but i bet some of them do anyways. most guys are really curious about this kind of stuff but cant quite stomach it. (how many of your guy friends freak out at the mention of "cramps", mine get all weird about it..)

Actually, my ex-boyfriend was (and still is) really sweet and sympathetic to me when that time of the month comes around. Now, my brother on the other hand...my sister and I actually talk about "monthly" things just to make him run screaming to another room (we're so mean, aren't we?) :)

My boyfriend is sweet during the "goddamn curse to women" time, but when I get PMS-y, I get rather verbally violent. So he just stays away from me. He's got an older sister, he knows the pain. But he also the knows the pain that will come to him if he sticks around me. So it's usually a kiss, how are you feeling?, bad? have an advil, BYE!

My elder brother is an ass, and I honestly do wonder how he manages to get a girlfriend, especially one of my more sensible friends.

Guy friends are the worst. You mention cramps at all! Or you act bitchy for a single moment, they immediately start making jokes. When you try to retaliate, it's impossible, because they get disgusted and make fun of you forever.

Hey, my motto is: If I can stomach tales of your sexual conquests, you can listen to me complain about cramps.
