View Full Version : Goth girls

I know it's not cool to judge people based on appearance, and I usually don't, but the sight of goth girls makes me laugh. Every time, without fail. Especially fat ones. I don't know what triggers it, but if I'm out somewhere and a goth girl walks into my line of vision, I giggle like a schoolgirl.

So, to recap - dyed black hair + black lipstick and nail polish + black clothes = hahahaha

Discuss goth girls and how ridiculous they look.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but why do they make you laugh?? Must be kinda like my tendency to laugh at people crying. That is the worst thing in the world. I dunno why, I just do. I think I am evil.

Not exactly the reply you were looking for but I love the goth look. Okay, some goth looks are weird, but if they work the look exactly right it doesn't look half bad. I dyed my hair red because I like the way it looks. But then again I've been known to be weird. :D I've always wanted to dye my hair black and dress in all black. It sure would match my moods.

I don't find them funny or weird looking, whatever. I'm not goth, but I like wearing black nail polish. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to get the polish off. I had some black on the other night and took the polish off yesterday and you can still see tiny black stains from the polish. I don't care how hard you wipe the stain, it doesn't want to come off. The only way to get it off is to keep painting my nails.

Now that I've gotten completely off topic, let me send my post. I've answered the main question and that's all that really matters.

No, you're not evil.

I seriously don't have anything against them; I just think that the reason I laugh at them because they look ridiculous. Incredibly ridiculous, and they bring it upon themselves.

The reason I brought the topic up is because on three separate occasions this past week, I've had to hide my laughter, because I was in a situation where I spied a "goth girl." And I'm not talking about the girls you see who happen to have black hair; etc. I'm talking about girls who are TRYING to look like death.

No, please don't misunderstand me, folks. That's not what I'm talking about at all. I have nothing against that at all. What I'm talking about is people who don the look to excess, not someone who dyes their hair black, wears black nailpolish or wears dark clothes. Maybe I should try to find a picture similar to what I'm talking about.

I used to get band tees from Hot Topic all the time when I was in high school. It used to be my t-shirt mecca, but not anymore, because they no longer cater to my particular taste. Now I usually order my tees online.

I didn't misunderstand you. I just got off topic with the black nail polish and how it's a pain in the butt to remove some of the little stains.

Martina, those pants sound cool! :)

I like dressing in all black, but you couldn't call me an actual goth because I do like wearing other colors as well. But like I said since I'm depressed most of the time it would work for me.

I think I get what AKA's meaning. It's not that he has anything against them, it's just funny that they'd wanna look that way. It's no different than making fun of a really, really fat person wearing a bright orange jumpsuit. They would look ridiculous, and they know that they would, but if they wear it anyway they know that they're only bringing it on themselves if people make fun of them.

Okay, so she's a little overweight and happens to be gothic. So what? Do you even know what 'gothic' people are?
You should visit the link below and read up. You still might find them weird but hey thats your opinion. Whatever floats your boat.

Goth people sometimes creep me out. They look too much like the idea of death - y'know, dressed all in black and pale skin. Plus, the spiked bracelets and whatnot look kind of dangerous. But I have nothing personally against people who dress that way. They're just expressing themselves.

Most kids who label themselves as Goth don't seem to know anything about it. So, yes some of the kids who shop at Hot Topic, wear all black, etc. probably aren't Goth.

Goth people dress that way because they don't want to conform to society, but aren't they just conforming to something else? Some say, "I want to be an individual, I'm against conforming, ect., ect." Haven't you noticed that most, if not all, "hardcore" goths look the same? Some individuality!

Mansonites/Spooky kids are the kids type of kids a lot of people in this thread are refering too. A lot of Goths don't wear black, just listen to Goth music, and if they ever get "dressed up" it's usually only when they go to Goth Clubs. All Goth mainly is about is the music.....well....aren't labels fun?

I have nothing against them. If that's how they want to dress, that's fine with me. Personally, I can't stand wearing black.

Goths really do scare me. I know it's going against the norm and what not, but if there are so many people doing it, are you really going against the norm? Besides, so many people who dress like goths are doing it because it's so "rebellious." I think that's dumb. If you like goth culture and you believe in it, then go for it. Not because it's the anti Abercrombie.

As for clothing, I shop at Old Navy, Hot Topic, Abercrombie, Delia's, H&M (for my classy wear) and random others.

But my basic style is nostalgia (I have a Mister Rogers tee shirt) and ethnic wear if I'm feeling classy.
