I forget, but what was the connection with Geraldo & Freddie? Were they friends from the comedy club days?

If i remember correctly I thought it sdaid in Maria's book that Freddie invited Geraldo to a comedy club where he would be performing, or that Geraldo was there and Freddie told his mom if he likes me I know I"ll make it.
I can't remember exactly but Geraldo didn't want to do a piece on Freddie because he didn't think he would make it or something like that.
If I have the details mixed up please correct me.

I think Geraldo wrote an article on Freddie for some magazine after he died. I think it's on one of the Freddie sites. I forget which one tho...

I remember reading about it too. Gerarldo Rivera gave his back to Freddie when Freddie was starting on the stand up comedian circuit. Gerarldo made a pretty bad review about him, and Freddie was expecting more about him..you know, being both Puertorican, and all that stuff...Anyway Freddie did not need hime after all ;)

I am not sure of the connections Geraldo might have had with Freddie in life, but he wrote a lengthy article after Freddie's death in the New Yorker Magazine. I am not Geraldo fan, but of all the articles I have read, and I have spent a small fortune on eBay researching the public life of Freddie Prinze, I found this article to be one of the more balanced. I am not sure why really, but what Geraldo has to say makes more sense than most. You may disagree with me, and that is ok. That is the great thing about our country, our freedom to disagree. At any rate, I give you his article. It will take several postings, so bear with me.

BTW the name of the article is "Nobody Ever said 'NO' to Freddie Prinze"

BTW if you all were informed by that article, there are plenty more where that came from. Just go to http://groups.msn.com/EdBrownsGarage and see what Hue_mee has to offer.

On a personal note.... I am a little concerned about the lack of interest that is happening around the internet concerning Freddie these days. I guess I have been so busy with my life that I have been blind to the fact that everyone else seems to be so too. There are a lot of good sites to be found on our Latin heartthrob. I am afraid that they will be closing up shop and then we will be back to next to nothing on Freddie anymore. :( I hope that never happens. He doesn't deserve to die a second death in the pits of obvilion.

After reading that article and many like it...I feel drained. I guess I don't want to read about his death any longer. I just want to focus on the positive things about Freddie. His heart, his wonderful smile, his beautifu eyes and his gentle nature. I know...bury my head in the sand syndrome..I have it bad. Freddie Prinze was indeed a young man with many sides, many dreams and very troubled at times, lacking the support system he needed around him 24-7 in order to mature and grow into a wiser man...a man that would have made smarter choices.

Thank you Lucky for posting another take on his death...freedom to post is what this board is all about. And I agree with what you say about the lack of action here and on other sites. We do get busy with our lives and I am so guilty of that...but like you Lucky, don't want to see Freddie's memory die at our own hands....like you said once is enough. Thank you for bringing that to my attention once more. I will make more of an effort to post, because if we don't...it will all slip through our fingers before you know it. It has taken so much work to keep this board going and all the hard work on the sites as well. Let's keep it going Freddie fans...his memory deserves as much.

I had read that before & had the hankies going. I read it again & was breaking out the hankies all over again. :crying:

I agree with Luckymama. I too had noticed how quiet things are. The only sites that get written on anymore is here, the new Freddie Cafe group & the Forever Freddie Prinze Message Boards. I always come to here & Forever Freddie Prinze everyday. The MSN & YAHOO groups on Freddie, I keep up with them via the e-mail. If you're busy, the best way to keep up with things is to have the messages from the groups e-mailed to ya. It is a real timesaver. I keep up with the other Freddie boards which aren't wirtten on very often by having this free website checker that can check any website or page from any site for ya to see if it's updated & then send ya the site or page from the site by e-mail. This is a godsend in helping me find out whether or not the Freddie boards that aren't written on very much & the Freddie sites are updated. It's not so accurate as It'll say a site is updated & all that's updated is a banner ad on the site but better than nothing. So I try to make time out for the sites & this helps.

We need to hang in there & keep his memory alive. I don't want to see the sites die. CATM may not be on tv anymore & Freddie, Jack, Scatman & Rev Bemis may not be alive anymore but it & Freddie are still alive in our hearts...

Keep on supporting the Latin Prinze & hot Hungarican! Let's keep his name alive! :)

I feel like I need to ask Freddie (and all of you) for forgiveness, because I have been neglecting most of the sites apart from this one. It didn't seem so bad when my focus was on (and the inspiration for my writing came from) another young, hot Latin comic in NYC--after all, Freddie seemed to come back to life in him. But now I have shifted some of my affections 10,000 miles away (literally), and I feel really guilty about that--for a lot of reasons.

As everyone is saying, Freddie's memory needs to be kept alive, and I was sooo privileged to be a part of that! Hope Freddie will come back around and inspire me again soon...
