That is insane. How can she go on to high school if she failed kindergarten? You need to know how to count to do math. ;)

Our high school has a program kinda like that, where the kids that failed can go to this program once a week and if the do good they get to move up the grade they failed. But I think you have to be doing REALLY good to get moved up.I dunno!

With my school I wish if you were on honor roll in the 7th grade you could go on, If so I'd be gone.

That's weird that they let her skip a grade. We had a guy in eighth grade when I was in Seventh Grade that had failed Eighth grade a few times and was 16 and still in Junior High School... that year he did graduate, but not by default he actually DID pass...
I was actually held back in first grade because I was 'too shy' the teacher said... I was a straight A student and writing in cursive when I was in FIRST GRADE..but still was held back, and I never once got to skip a grade. Even though they tested me in fourth grade and found out my test results would have been equal to the average 10th grader, but still never skipped a grade.
My friend also was held back in one of her grades but never got to skip a grade, but also she was in a 'helping' class from the time she was in Elementary School to Junior High and now in High School. They basically don't have to take the exams to graduate each grade-- they just automatically do. I remember when we had the big tests in eighth grade to see if we would score high enough to actually go to High School her class was painting and stuff... My friend isn't even that slow, but it just was the class she was in, has been in, and still is in... They automatically pass each grade. I'm not sure how that works? I mean... at the end she will have a High School Diploma like the rest of us, but she won't actually have that High School Education the others have. In Junior High School they were still doing multiplication problems like '5 x 5='.
Don't anyone take this the wrong way.. I love my firend and not trying to say anything bad about her, but I just don't understand how her's will in the end be equal to everyone elses without her actually knowing as much as everyone else? Don't know...
