They also started repeating stories, so I don't think it could have lasted until 1989, they could maybe have just managed one final season with an ending. Or at least had a big three part final showing what happened to eveybody so the show could have had some kind of closure. I really only liked the show up until Dana Plato left. I couldn't stand Sam or Maggie. The only episodes I liked in the last season were Sam's Kidnapping and Bulimia.
