Nate - he's an actor, he'll do whatever his role requires him to do no matter what his sexual orientation is. That's what actors do. If I were an actress and the role I was playing required me to kiss I guy then I'd do it. I wouldn't enjoy it but I'd still do it.

As everyone has said before me, he's an actor; that's what he does, act. If he's paid to kiss a guy, he's going to kiss a guy. He may not exactly be thrilled about it, but you have to do what the job requires. He knew that going into the project.

I'm a straight guy, and it doesn't bother me one bit. People choose who they want to be, I'm not going to judge them because they're different, or because an actor plays someone who is different. That's the life they've chosen, so be it. I think Hal Sparks is a good actor, and when watching him during the VH1 Specials of the 1980s, thought he was pretty funny too.

It shouldn't really matter if he's straight or gay in real life. To sum it up, he's apparently straight, playing a gay guy, like we all have said, that's what actors do, they act.

Rainman needs to stop obsessing over guys on TV and get out there and meet some guys in real life!

I always get a kick of people assuming that if a guy plays a gay on tv or in the movies then he MUST be gay. Same thing about the people who watches shows like Queer as Folk, OZ, Six feet Under, ect.. People assume that if one enjoys these shows then they must be gay.

Heck, a few weeks back at FYE I bought the second season of OZ on DVD only to have the clerk "warning" me that OZ " is a queer show and that he wouldnt be caught dead watching it"

I went to the manager about it and he AGREED with the clerk. Last time I will be going back to that store !!!

Billy Crystal, Johnny Galecki, Martin Mull, Cher ( remember Silkwood ? ) Tom Hanks, Drew Barrymore and quite a few other stars have played gays in movies and tv yet in real life they are straight. Just acting !!

Same with stars who play mass murderers on tv/movies. Just because one shoots someone in the movies doesnt mean he is that way in real life.

Sure when folks at the airport sees Bruce Willis catching his flights they dont call the police/FBI becuase he blew up a plane in one of the Die Hard films.

BTW..Jim Nabors has never said he is gay ( at least to my knowledge ). The gay stereotypes one hears is as old as a 6 pack of Billy Beer, outdated and stupid!! I know many of guys with high pitched voices/ speaks in lisps / enjoys the music of Babs and Liza ect... who are NOT gay while I know many guys who love sports, listen to country music, have very deep voices who ARE gay.

Another example about how stupid gay stereotypes can be, back in the 70s the name "Bruce" was considered gay. Anita Bryant sure pointed that out, sometimes on the Hollywood Squares one can still hear "gay Bruce" jokes. Well I have yet to meet to "gay" Bruce. Bruce Springsteen, Bruce Willis, David Cassidy ( whose middle name is Bruce ) are they gay? So there goes that stereotype!!

You're right - it is a stupid question!
I'm not religous myself but I have a lot of gay friends who are.
I think this thread prooves that you can't tell if someone is gay or straight just by looking at them - not everything is black and white. I grew up with a couple of people who eventually came out as being gay and I never had any clue untill they actually told me - even though I grew up with them! Similarly, quite a few of my friends and aquaintances don't know that I am gay even though I see and speak to them very often and have known many of them for years.
People just need to stop making snap judgements about others and open their minds a bit more.
