wayman 07-12-2003, 01:26 PM I bought the 4th season of M*A*S*H last night (July 11th) at a local store. It isn't supposed to be released until this Tuesday (July 15th). I had also purchased the 2nd Season of Friends there last year the weekend before it was supposed to be released.
I will be at my local Tower Video the 15th.
;)
Adamantium 07-12-2003, 01:59 PM I can't wait to buy season four. I watched "Change of Command" on FX and I'm anxious to watch the scenes that FX cut out. I'm really gonna miss Henry Blake. I know Potter has his fans, but for me, Blake is the the better col. I'll probably miss Trapper for a few episodes, but over all, I'll get over him.

I bought Season 4 today and I was right. I really miss Henry Blake. Also Frank was almost scary this season.
In an early episode Henry tells Hawkeye:
Henry: Leave Frank alone. One of these days Frank's gonna throw the book at you, and I won't be there to help you.
Well I noticed that in "The Novocaine Mutiny" that happened. If Hawkeye was found guilty he could have been hanged. And Frank didn't even care! I always felt sorry for Frank that he got picked on by Hawkeye and Trapper. But now, I don't.
Lolac 07-16-2003, 12:11 PM I received an e-mail from Amazon.com this morning that my pre-ordered season 4 set had been shipped today. I am so excited! I have been watching the first 3 seasons over and over again. I'm looking forward to some "new" episodes! Lolac
P.S. Season 5 will be released in December. I already pre-ordered that one also.
dlemond 07-16-2003, 12:41 PM My local Costco has it for $25.99, but I have to pick up seasons 2 & 3 before I can think about #4.
$25.99 is a pretty good price.
I haven't picked it up yet, but I will probably Pick it up Saturday morning and watch it all weekend.
:woohoo:
dlemond 07-16-2003, 09:34 PM You know, this past weekend FX was playing episodes from Season 4.
Besides finding how much I really liked it, I got the general impression that this was no coincidence (with the DVD coming out on Tuesday).

Yes, I noticed that too. Quite a coincidence, no?
;)
Yaaaaay! I got MASH! I Got MASH! Yaaaay!
Finally, after going to two places last night, I picked up my season 4 collection this afternoon.
Good thing I got all of my errands out of the way early, because i think I'm parked on the couch for the rest of the day.
I love the DVD art, by the way.
;)
Lolac 07-19-2003, 03:58 PM I received my season 4 set from Amazon a couple of days ago. One question I have, are these episodes in original broadcast order? It seems to me that they are not, but I could be wrong. I thought the "Dear Mildred" episode was originally broadcast after the "Change of Command" episode, but in this set they have it 3 or 4 episodes after that. (I don't have it right in front of me for accuracy!) Any one else notice this? Lolac
fore284 07-20-2003, 10:39 AM I am going to get all 4 seasons on DVD I love this show.

All the episodes are in broadcast order. I double checked it with "The Complete Book Of M*A*S*H."

I've got that book too. I bought it for my older sister, who was a M*A*S*H fan a few years ago. However, I seem to read it more often than she does. So, don't tell her, but it's mine now.

Thank you!! That eases my faulty mind! Lolac
Lolac, you may be on to something here...
I was watching "Dear Mildred" this afternoon, and it looks like it would fit in better behind "Change Of Command." In "Mildred" Radar is still uneasy around his new C.O. and Potter is writing home about being the "new kid on the block."
Perhaps "Dear Mildred" was shot before some other episodes, but they changed the order before the episode was broadcast.

TJL, I always remember "Dear Mildred" being broadcast in syndication after "Change of Command." If you watch the episodes before "Dear Mildred" in the dvd set you notice what I noticed, that Radar is still not sure of his new CO in "Dear Mildred", but in "The Bus" they seem to be quite comfortable with each other. I would be interested in knowing what's really going on here. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not TOTALLY senile!!!

The reruns on FX are the tape date order rather than airdate order. Like when Season one came out, "Henry Please Come Home" followed the pilot, but on the DVD, it was shown as the ninth show.
Heidi Dawn 08-08-2003, 06:17 PM I got my season 4 DVD's when they came out on July 15th! I've watched all of the episodes at least once and I'll watch them again when Prime airs the season 4 episodes just to compare the cut episodes with the uncut episodes. Can't wait for season 5 on December 9th!
