I've just started to watch Friends after a long hiatus. I don't think it's really lost that much. Then again, I'm not a die hard fan.

In my opinion, it is getting a little old, but I imagine it's tough coming up with new storylines after 9 years of being on the air. "Friends" is still my favorite comedy though!

Vaughn to Sydney on "Alias."
"This watch belonged to my father. It's broken now, but it used to keep perfect time. And when he gave it to me, he said you could set your heart by this watch. It stopped October 1st. The day we met."

This year has been the worst for me because they're recycling stories and have done some things to the characters that just don't make any sense. It's still better than any of the new shows.
The next time you feel bad about where Friends is going, watch a show like AUSA - snapped me back into reality.

The storylines are starting to run out, but it's still funny to enjoy. Maybe after next season is a good time to end the show.

I havent even seen the show since maybe November,
I've caught a repeat here and there bu I have not been regualrly watching it like I used too. It seems like they are going nowhere with the season finale this year. This season should have been about Ross and Rachel an they ruined it.

I usually watch it full fledged about 10 times a day!lmfao But for the last few months I haven't...due to another obsession;)

yeah, it isn't as good as it used to be, but I still watch it. I agree it must be tough after nine years to come up with some really good plots.

I absolutely love 'Friends' but I, too, have noticed lately the episodes aren't as funny as in the past. I still watch it. It has it's ups-n-downs. Look at last season and the great comeback. I look at it this way-a bad episode of Friends is still better than a good episode of alot of the really bad new comedies out there now.;)

It's been bad ever since Rachel had her baby. The show hasn't recovered since.

I completely agree! Maybe I'm optimistic, but I think we're getting not-as-good episodes right now (although I enjoyed last Thursday's) because the episodes at the very end of the series (i.e. next season) are going to be awesome. :)

I liked the first season after that it got to silly to much like three's company. Didn't Jimmy burrows leave after the first season? (director of wings, cheers, taxi and other great shows)

It is getting old and it's not as funny as it used to be. I like the old episodes better.

I don't think Friends is boring, but you can't expect after 9 years that it will be the same as it was the first season, it's like that with nearly all the shows that last so long. Since the first season so many changes has occured.

I think if Ross and Rachel get back together they're probably going to break up again, despite they just had a baby together. I guess they weren't meant to stay together. I think Rachel and Joey should get together. It would add something new to the show.

I think they go back to the same story a lot. The love triangle with Rachael, Ross, and Joey(always around sweeps). I don't have to mention the Ross and Rachael story line(but it's how the show started). I think Joey has been funnier then ever the past few seasons, but a little more of an airhead.

My views on the show are best siad using this this scene from an episode of "South Park"

Cartman: [turns over to look at Mr. Mackey] So does that mean I'll never laugh again?

Mr. Mackey: It's possible, hm'kay? [Cartman turns over and lays on his back again] But you know, if you have completely lost your sense of humor, you can always become a writer for the show, "Friends" [laughs at the unexpected humor in his own statement].Ohokahay, huhuh.

I still enjoy Friends, but the episodes aren't as funny as they used to be.

I will agree that after 9 seasons,it can't be as funny as
before.Chandler and Manica getting married was the pick
of the iceberg for me,they became boring and so predictable.
Rachel with Joey will only repeat what she already had with Ross.I agree that Ross and Rachel's relationship was a big
roller coster ride but, they deserve a happy ending:)
