TV Land's boxset today wasn't really accurate in my opinion because the title of the boxset did not match two episodes. The boxset was called when "Casts Collide" but that wasn't the case with HappyDays/Laverne and Shirley, and All in the Family/Jeffersons. The reason why is this, The Happy Days episode TV LAND aired when Fonzie and Richie goes on a date with Laverne and Shirley was not a collision of casts because Laverne and Shirley did not have their own show at the time. Same thing with the All in the Family episode, it wasn't a collision of casts because the Jeffersons did not start until the following week. So how could these two episodes be considered a collision of casts when both Laverne and Shirley and the Jeffersons didn't exist at the time these two episodes were aired? Anyone agree?

I can see your point. TV Land probably just doesn't think that way. They just see Laverne and Shirley on Happy Days and say "The Casts Collide." Same for The Jeffersons on All in the Family.

The episodes TV LAND should have showed was the L&S episode "Shotgun Wedding"-Part 2 with Richie and Fonzie and the AITF episode "Mike Makes his Move"-when George and Lionel return to their old neighborhood 8 weeks after the Jeffersons started on CBS.

The only problem is that TV Land doesn't have the rights to that episode because their rights with Laverne & Shirley expired already.

The big deal is TV LAND showed the wrong episode because it was before the spinoff started which means it was not a collision of casts if that episode was aired in 1975.

Not really a big deal, but TV LAND should follow the title of the boxset which is someting that wasn't done on sunday.

Well actually in a way it is kind of a Collison Of Casts. Even though the shows werent made yet, They were still a cast of anouther show. If it said Crossovers of Casts, Than i would see your Point, But technically Laverne and Shirley and The Jeffersons are On other shows, Thus making it Collison Of Casts.

Have to disagree, that episode of Happy Days and All in the Family was not a collision of cast. The boxset should have been given another title. Both the jeffersons and laverne and shirley did appear on theirpsrent shows after their spinoff stsrted which is why i don't understand TV LAND didn't show those episodes.

Well i understand what your saying, But i disagree with it. Just because their shows were not made yet does not mean they are not the cast of anouther show. If they had done this Collision Of Casts thing before Laverne and Shirley or The Jeffersons were made, Than you would be right, But just because the shows werent around at the time of the episode doesent mean that it is not a Cast Coliision, Because it really is. They were not crossovers because the shows were not made yet, But they technically could be considered Collisions Of Casts.

I guess that make sense. But IMO it would have been better to show Shotgn Wedding Part 2 and Mike Makes his Move. But your right, technically it's still a collision of casts.

This is very true. If it were not, TV Land would not have done the box set. It was a cast colliding with another. They didn't make a rule that it had to be after a spinoff started. Since time has passed, it can be done because we know that the cast did get their own shows later and can now see them when they were on parent shows. It would be cool if TV Land did a cast collide with Wings/Cheers, Benson/Soap Hello, Larry/Diff'rent Strokes, Diff'rent Strokes/Facts of Life.

BTW, SOLOMON, I totally agree with your idea for the Happy Days/Laverne and Shirley "Shotgun" episodes.

Well if all that is true, TV LAND should have show the first happy days episode with Mork, instead of the episode when he returned in 79.
