Here is a question to see who comes to mind when we speak of hairstyles.

I think just about anyone on a long-running show has changed their hairstyle at some point.

On "Cheers", there were several episodes where George Wendt ("Norm Peterson") had a real curly, "Brady Bunch" type Perm. I always thought it looked kinda weird on him.

On "The Monkees" Davy started with fairly short hair, then grew it long and then for season two cut it short again. Mickey started the show with straight hair and in season two it was curly. Mike grew sideburns towards the end of season one, which carried through the rest of the series.

What happened to Micky also happened to Mike Brady on "The Brady Bunch".

I also recall Dobie Gillis having blonde hair and having darker hair in the later years.

I read somewhere that on "That Girl," Marlo Thomas changed her hairstyle very frequently, like sometimes even between camera shots.

Kimberly/Dana Plato

Elaine on Seinfeld

Patty Duke on every show, lol. Cousin Kathy had a more conservative style then the more groovy Patti did.

Clarke Kent and Superman Had slightly different styles, so Lois and Jmmy wouldn't recognize Clarke without his glasses on. ;)
Speaking of Lois, she changed her style a few times. That is in the modern day 'Lois and Clarke'. I don't think the original Lois in Superman changed her style. Ever.

Rosanne changed hers quite a few times. So did everyone else on the show. Except maybe DJ. I guess he did too toward the end.

Christina Applegate in Married with children changed hers a lot of times. So did Al. But that was because it got thinner as the seasons went by. So he didn't really change it, it just changed involuntarily. -- Same for George on Seineld.

How about Sally Struthers on All in the Family? She had short curly hair, then she straightened it in the 2nd season, I think. By the time she left the show, she had really long hair.

Mary Tyler Moore: She went through many hairstyles throughout the series run of her show, she went from a long flip, to a short and wavy hairstyle.

Blair Warner: She also had several hairstyles throughout the run of "The Facts of Life". She went from the "Farrah" to the more straight and more mature shorter look.

Carol Brady: She moved through many hairstyles while she was on "The Brady Bunch", she went from the short and chic to the "Shag".

Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched, she went from short hair in the early episodes to the flip hairdo in the mid and late 60's,the longer hair in the 1969-1970 through 1970-1971 seasons, and the longer modern 1970's hairdo she had during the last season

Three came to mind when I saw that question:

Robert Reed (The Brady Bunch) Short late 60s haircut to the early 70s John Davidson hairstyle to the afro perm hair during the last two seasons
Shelley Fabares (Coach) Frizzy perm hair to straight normal hair during the last season and a half of the show
Meredith Baxter Birney (Family Ties) Long straight hair to the Mary Tyler Moore hairstyle back to long hair with bangs and back to the Mary Tyler Moore short haircut during the last season of the show

Both Emily on The Bob Newhart Show and Mandy on The People's Choice went from short curly hair to longer, straighter hair when their shows ended.

Janet on Three's Company had a curly perm for a time, and then switched to her natural straight hair.

If you noticed every season during Three's Company Joyce DeWitt, Janet, changed her hairstyle. It was done to keep the character of Janet growing and moving. Actually when Janet got rid of that god awful perm and the plain Jane look actually she looked sexier. I always thought Joyce DeWitt was far more attractive than Suzanne Somers and Jenilee Harrison. Joyce and Priscilla Barnes were neck to neck.

Marlo Thomas from That Girl had a flip hairdo from 1966 through 1970,then in the last season she had longer straighter hair. In the That Girl post, they show a TV Guide from 1970 with Ted Bessell and Marlo Thomas had long straight hair.
Getting to Ted Bessell,he had a flat top in the early seasons through 1970,and then he grew his hair on top for the last season.

On Cheers, Diane went from curly to super-curly to wavy to straight. And the blondeness of her hair changed too (season 4 was probably her natural color, or close to it; it was more light brown than blonde that season). In actuality, though, there's probably too many to list, since every actress who appeared in a show for more than two or three years probably changed hairstyles (and in some cases hair colors) at least once or twice.

Donal Louge on "Grounded for Life" changes his hair style every season. For the 1st half of this season his hair was long but now is hair is short again like in season 1.The wife's hairstyle is different as well as the daughter and the oldest son.

Cheryl Hines' hair in the original "Curb Your Enthusiasm" pilot was different and it was either blonde or brown. It's been a while since I've seen the original pilot since it doesn't air in syndication like the rest of the series.

Barbara Eden's hair style changed during the run of I dream of Jeannie. She started the show with very short curly hair and grew it right till the end of the show. Each season as her hair grew she would wear in a different way. She also comment she wore wigs to get a different look. Now that I think about she had quite a nuber of wigs

Barbara Feldon's hair when through the same thing as Barbara Eden on Get Smart. She started off with the bowl cut which she is famous for, then she grew it a bit, then in the last season she had long dark brown hair, which I must comment was very very beautiful.

No one has changed their hair on tv more than Fran Drescher in the Nanny.

I really like the change Julia Louis Dreyfus made to Elaine's hair in Seinfeld as well.

Barbara Feldon did have many different hairdos, generally her hair was short in the earlier seasons. midlength in the middle of the show and longer in the last 2 years, yet virtually all of those hairdos were wigs or hair extensions, some of which were obvious, others weren't. In a TV guide article during the run of the show she admitted that she wore wigs because her hair was a bit damaged. Don Adams wore a touppee also.

Another interesting topic is which actresses (or actors) wore their own hair at times and wigs or touppees at other times in the course of the same series. These are some I know of:

Isabel Sanford and Marla Gibbs in the Jeffersons
Ted Danson in Cheers
Michael Warren in Hill St Blues
Denise Nicholas in Room 222
Lucille Ball in The Lucy Show

If you noticed on FRIENDS all of the actors went through changes with their hair...Rachel's was the one most noticed because of all the fuss with the hair ...

Lisa Kudrow wore a wig the last five seasons because her hair was short and Phoebe still had her long locks.

Monica 's went from short to longer.... bangs when she did the scream 2 AND 3 movies....

Joey had bangs in the beginning ... actually he had very short hair the year he did lost in space...

Ross' hair was very short in seasons 1 and 2.... by the time we got to season 10.... it was long and thick... worst looking season 5...also beginning of season 8 there were highlights in it ..

chandler has one year his hair is almost blonde

and rachel went from being a brunette to almost blonde

Dean Winchester

Sarah Jessica Parker on S&TC:
shoulder-length brunette in the pilot episode
long blonde curly hair for the rest of season 1 and some of season 2
straightens her hair in the middle of season 2
recurls it at the end of season two and it stays that way until...
she hacks it off two episodes towards the end of season 4
short hair the rest of season 5 until she gets extentions in the wedding scene in the last episode of season 5
long blonde hair like standard for the first part of season 6
then she stops bleaching it and she ends up looking like Madonna circa "Ray Of Light" by the end of the series

how about men?

Nick Brendon (Xander) on Buffy The Vampire Slayer had a different hairstyle each season.
season 1 was longer and shaggy
season 2 was short
season 3 was still short but grown out a little bit
season 4 was a little longer than 3
season 5 his hair was messy and long
season 6 his hair was cropped off
season 7 his hair grew long again and was messy and curly in the last few episodes
