View Full Version : To Pav: Are There Any Local Stations That Are Carrying Charles in Charge
AtlantaBravesFan29 02-13-2003, 10:51 AM Hi, Pav!!! I was wondering if there are local stations that are still carrying Charles in Charge. I know that I don't get it on my local stations in San Antonio, and I know that they show Charles in Charge on Nick at Nite but not all of the episodes(just the ones from syndication, and not showing the ones aired on CBS in 1984-1985,which by the way when they went into full syndication they showed every episode the CBS episodes, the new ones for syndication, all of them. I know that Nick at Nite will more than likely never show the episodes from that very first season. So that pretty much sucks, big time.
Brett Ferino 02-13-2003, 04:12 PM Tons of stations have aired this. Currently, the show can be seen on N@N every weekday mornings at 4:30AM EST.
For syndication, a list of stations that aired it on it's weekly basis from eary 1987-mid 1990 can be seen here: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4400&highlight=wpix
The show entered syndication (daily) in the fall of '90 with new episodes airing from mid November until the final episode on 12/14/90. Although it did have 5 episodes in the 89 season and 21 in the 90 season, I somewhat consider that 2 seasons (6), but we all considerit season 5.
Where I am, here in Philly, the show has aired within the past few years on WPHL (WB-17) and WPSG (UPN-57). For you New Yorkers out there, the show aired daily from 90 to I don't know when on WPIX (aka The WB 11 since 1995).
Later on, I'll give you an almost-complete list of stations! :)

Oh, and responding to what's his name's question whether they show the CBS episodes, they bought the whole series last summer. The contract ends in late May of 2003. I think they'll renew it since it's successful on N@N. They had the marathon, last nite it was part of F&S Week, and you know. They gotta make copies of Season 1 and Season 5.. Hopefully they'll do that!!!
AtlantaBravesFan29 02-13-2003, 06:14 PM My name is BravesFan712002,and I am the one who wants Nick at Nite to show the first season of Charles In Charge that aired on CBS,Brett. When they show Mama's Family reruns, they show every episode, the NBC years and the syndication years.
Brett Ferino 02-13-2003, 07:27 PM They show every episode of "Mama's Family". Now what does this have to do with "Charles in Charge"????

The guy was just making an example. TBS airs Mama's Family, which was like Charles in Charge. MF ran on a regular network for 2 seasons, and then it was cancelled. It came back a year later in syndication and ran for 4 more years. TBS airs all 6 seasons of the show, including the 2 that ran on NBC.
He wants to know why TBS airs all of Mama's Family, while Nick @ Nite airs only the syndicated years.
Hope that made sense.
Brett Ferino 02-13-2003, 08:09 PM it's why Tbs has all the MF episodes in tapes and N&N only has tapes of seasons 2, 3, 4. hopefully they'll renew the contract and show them soon.
and that's the bottom line

Anyways, I Wish some other station played them around here. Im dying to see the 1st and 5th Season for the first time. Im getting a little sick of the same ones over and over.
SBTB Geek 02-17-2003, 01:36 PM In RARE occasions, "Charles In Charge" still airs in KTTV-FOX 11 (in L.A.) on weekend afternoons as a fill-in.
I saw two episodes last November on that station.

Well, I knew that, but the other poster obviously didn't.

It doesn't matter if it's UPN, FOX or whatever. The independent, WMLW Channel 41 out of Milwaukee airs Charles in Charge at 7:30 AM weekdays.

UPN stations don't control their affiliates daytime/after prime-time programming. If a station airs CIC- the choice was made locally- not nationwide by the ENTIRE UPN network.
