Overnights:
ABC's 8 Simple Rules (#3: 7.5/11) still has an audience and the WB's Gilmore Girls (5.1/7) remains rock-solid despite the addition of American Idol. Proof positive that ABC is back on the map on Tuesday (in the 8 p.m. hour, that is), was the net's combination of 8 Simple Rules and According to Jim (#4: 6.4/9) up, on average, 49 percent from game show The Chair on the year-ago night (4.6/7 on Feb. 12, 2002).
8 Simple Rules was #3 overall for the 8-8:30pm slot behind American Idol and JAG.
Fast Nationals:
8 Simple Rules was #3 for 8-8:30 at 7.0/11. NBC's game-show special from 8-9 was at a 6.8/10, but peaked at 8:30 when According to Jim on ABC averaged a 6.1/9.
Viewers 18-49:
8 Simple Rules was #2 for 8-8:30 at a 3.7/10 behind American Idol.
It's still getting decent ratings despite American Idol, once American Idol ends it will be back to #2 overall (sometimes even #1) for the timeslot and by far #1 for viewers 18-49.
