I live in West Virginia, and only a couple of blocks from,Bob Denver, and have been associated with him for some time he is indeed a great and wonderful human being and is most gracious to all of his fans. He hosts his own website with his wife Dreama.

Bob Denver was a good actor in the roles he had,but it's a shame he couldn't show more of his talent-at least on TV.He was totally typecast after GI and he found it hard to get away from the,"informal,"image after that.He could not shake the misfit image that he got from,"Dobie Gillis,"as easily as he could shave off the beard.

I remember seeing a Farmer's Daughter rerun where Bob Denver had a straight role as a soldier.He did wonderfuly.That was the year before the Island Show.

On the other hand I saw a rerun of I Dream of Jeannie(from the year after GI)where he was a bumbling aprentice-genie,doing a lot of Gilliganlike stuff.

When he was in Dobie Gillis,he had the chance to play a character who was humane as well as funny.GI toned down the humanity more and more as time went on.
