View Full Version : Fred was the funniest when he was in a scene with Rollo, Esther, or Hulio?
TVFactFan 02-11-2003, 06:33 PM I have to say Rollo and Hulio because every scene with Fred and these characters was entertaining. Hulio's memorable phrase when he called Fred a big dummy in his language which was Sangano! And he repeated it over and over. Rollo always was wild. No matter how ignorant or mean Fred was toward him, Rollo always maintained a cool laid back demeanor and would say "that's Cold Pop". Esther and Fred had their funny moments but not as funny as Rollo and Hulio. But I will always love the scene when Fred gives Esther a clear piece of plastic and tells her that her new Halloween Mask-LOL. So in your opinion, what character or characters made Fred the Funniest?
AtlantaBravesFan29 02-11-2003, 07:23 PM Aunt Esther,most definitely,her exchanges with Fred are classic.

Hulio to me was funnerthan Esther, I guess i feel that way because Esther always said the same thing-Watch it sucka, You old fish eyed fool, it became stale. Hulio was the man. I wish he would have stayed.
AtlantaBravesFan29 02-11-2003, 11:19 PM I like Julio a lot too. My favorite ones with Julio is when Julio's mother and sister come and visit and Fred doesn't want Lamont to date Julio's sister, and Fred and Julio's mother go to that Chinese resturant and spy on them, and then two of Fred's friends come and tease Fred for being out with her. Another episode is where Julio tries to make friends with Fred by taking him and Lamont to the Mexican resturant. Another episode is where Fred wants to set up a boundary line to separate their property from Julio's.And the episode where they try to make a TV Commerical and everyone has different ideas. I don't know why Gregory Sierra left Sanford and Son, I know that he played Chano on Barney Miller for a couple of seasons, and he even had his own series, A.E.S. Hudson Street, which lasted just a few episodes, and I know that he has guest starred on some shows like Miami Vice. Do you know what happened to Gregory Sierra???
Tuesday Weld 02-11-2003, 11:51 PM I would say he was very funny with Esther and Rollo - not so much Julio:cool:
*PinkLady* 02-12-2003, 07:53 AM I'd say Rollo and sometimes Esther. Fred's prejudice against Julio got really old.
DarleneIllyria 02-12-2003, 05:43 PM Rollo and Esther
*InThisMoment* 02-13-2003, 02:18 AM Fred was the funniest when he was with aunt esther. I also love the part when he gives aunt esther a peice of clear plastic and says its her new holoween mask!
MandieR1980 02-13-2003, 04:22 AM Esther & Julio
Rickenbacker 02-20-2003, 12:01 PM Hmmm... toss up between Rollo & Esther for me. I'd lean towards Rollo, though. I love the convict jokes! :)
Fred G Cleaver 03-14-2003, 02:09 PM I would have to say Rollio i loved on that episode where they give Fred that ring and he finds out its just made of paste and Rollio is the one that bought it and Fred says he is about to do a 539 and Rollio says whats that Fred picks up a nightstick i think and says breaking and entering of your skull
storrs19 03-15-2003, 04:34 AM My vote is for Aunt Esther:
Esther: Poor little couch, I bet you haven't been dusted in years
Fred: Poor little couch, I bet this is the first time you've been sat on by a buffalo
Esther: Poor little walls, It's a shame you have to be here and hear the language that comes out of this man's mouth
Fred: Poor little wall, you outta be glad you ain't got no eyes to see who's talking to you
I just die laughing when I see that exchange, and this one:
Esther: Who're you callin' ugly sucka' ??
Fred: You !
Fred: I could stick your face in some dough and make some gorilla cookies !
Chad
Fred G Cleaver 03-17-2003, 04:17 PM another funny Esther moment is the episode where Lamont gets engaged to Janet Fred invites Woody and Esther over for dinner when they get there
Fred Why dont you start helping us out in the kitchen
Esther alright
Fred You can start by sticking your face in the frezzer and making us some uglycicles
catlover79 09-05-2007, 06:48 PM Much as I love Fred's interactions with Julio, Rollo and Chico - his best interactions were with Esther. The way those two insulted each other was priceless!! Esther was good at both dishing it out and taking it.
asiy05 02-02-2011, 11:37 PM Aunt Esther.
catlover79 04-13-2012, 12:44 AM Priceless...
rollo's girl 04-13-2012, 09:13 PM My vote goes to Aunt Esther and Rollo. I think Rollo just dismissed Fred for two reasons-- he was his elder, and because he knew he was full of baloney. And Aunt Esther could really give it back if she was pushed!
Fred, at home sick in bed: "They're gonna do me like an old Eskimo-- put me on a block of ice and send me out to sea."
Esther: "You gonna NEED a block of ice where you goin'."
catlover79 04-14-2012, 02:44 AM "Elizabeth!! I'm coming to join you, honey...with a Puerto Rican goat!!!!"
Willbo 04-16-2012, 03:11 PM Aunt Esther. She was the best.
Aunt Esther: Well I never...(After Fred saying something insulting to her)
Fred: Well I can see why!!
Jboogie 05-07-2012, 08:48 AM For me I have to say he was funniest with Esther, followed by Rollo then Julio. I
literally fall out when Fred & Esther get into it.
Sonny Carson 05-22-2012, 07:24 PM His funniest interactions were definitely with Rollo and Aunt Esther.
MikeLutton 05-22-2012, 07:37 PM wish aunt esther would of met julio that would of been a funny meeting
OH Nuts! 05-22-2012, 08:35 PM Esther Esther Esther ALL THE WAY! Their fights were priceless - some have made me laugh so hard I've almost wet myself.
Cloud9 Lorraine 06-29-2012, 10:23 PM Definitely Esther. She didn't mind putting her fists up with Fred, and Fred would put his up right back at her. Rollo and Julio were respectful enough not to lose their cool too much with a grouchy old guy.
Yooch 06-29-2012, 10:30 PM I agree. Esther!
TVFactFan 06-29-2012, 11:32 PM Definitely Esther. She didn't mind putting her fists up with Fred, and Fred would put his up right back at her. Rollo and Julio were respectful enough not to lose their cool too much with a grouchy old guy.
