I just saw the episode where the Simpsons visit New York. It appeared to be unedited. Has anyone seen this episode recently?

To my knowledge, it has never aired on the Boston FOX affiliate since before 9/11/01.

It hasn't been shown in this country since.

Are you sure you saw it BJL? According to www.tvtome.com (or www.epguides.com ), they said that it is likely that it will never be shown again. i dont know about that. maybe its just me 'eh..

I haven't seen it since August of 2001.

I don't see why that episode could be seen as offensive. The boy band episode airs a lot on my local station and that episode actually shows a skyscraper in NYC being blown up.

Yes, 9/11 was a horrible tragedy, but we can't act like the buildings never existed.

It was probably for reasons of sensitivity. That episode seemed unedited because it had Homer going to one tower to use the bathroom only to find it closed and he has to go to the other tower and use it. What's so bad about that?

I can understand not showing the episode in the aftermath of 9/11, but time has passed and it should be shown again.

Exactly. There is nothing we can do about September 11. If the episode was produced after the attacks, that would spark a lot of criticism.

I know it hasn't. But I have seen it air on another station (WNDS) that I get a couple of months ago but I haven't seen it sence than.

I saw it a week or so ago. The only part that I noticed cut is that in the original Homer moans in pleasure while urinating much longer. They cut a lot of the moan out.

I have this epi on tape and Homer actually goes to the Twin Towers. What a trip. It's hilarious how he has to pee really bad. :lol:

Way too much crab juice. He should've stuck with the mountain dew.

I seen the episode lots of time after 9/11 it shows it on the Comedy Network all the time (Canadian Network)

I just saw that epi I have it on tape.

That's too bad that it hasn't been aired because the whole joke of Homer having to go to the bathroom is pretty funny. It's hillarious that he has to take an elevator all the the way to the top floor of the world trade center just to go to the bathroom only to find out that it's out of order, so he goes in the other tower.

Theres been alot of things being stated about this episode's future after 9/11. I think it was stated that it is up to the local FOX station to decide if they would air it or not. So, if you've seen in since 9/11, you will probably see it again. I'm just mad, because on the Monday before the attacks, my local station was showing 3 episodes of Simpsons back to back to back. This was only to last a week, and they were showing season nine episodes. The next day, the attacks happened, and probably 2 episodes of the Simpsons aired the rest of the week, and I never saw the episode. I can understand that they needed to show news, etc. and the sensitivity of the episode, but here it is 2 1/2 years later and my station still hasnt aired it. I hate to do it, but I think I'm going to have to download it.

Because shows that have 9/11 themes or air during and the aftermath can offend people because of the loss of innocent lives and Hollywood took out not just movies, shows, and/or other stuff that have terrorism plots, Always Arabs/Arab-Americans as the culprits of terrorism in their movies, Planes crashing, stuff that have any and all 9/11 themes people have to take seriously and realize that terrorism can struck everywhere, apparent on that tragic day of infamy!! But the show, BTW was funny that I would probably would have done the same!!

was that the one where he had to wait to get the boot off of his car but he drank all the crab juice?
