I was a frequent watcher of the Cosby Show but there were some things thaT bothered me.

1.The Cockroach character being taken off the show-Very Entertaining

2.Too many scenes of the Grandparents-slowed the show down

3.Vanessa's slanted Afro in later seasons-gave her a goofy look

4. Cousin Pam-just didn't fit

5. Oliva-slowed the show down

6.Last couple of seasons when the Huxtable Household had 20 people living in.

i Agree with all of those except for the Grandparents. I Liked the Grandparents, But i especially agree with you about Cousin Pam....

Cousin Pam Centered Episodes = puke:

I Also hated that stupid episode where the Men are pregnant and give birth to toy trucks or whatever. Who wrote that?

Chad that episode with the pregnant men was the STUPIEST EPISODE IN TV HISTORY. I agree with you a 100% on that. The Grandparents were okay for every once in a while but it ad gotten to the point where the became the focus of certain episodes. I just slowed the show down way too much. One episode of the cosby show that is one of my favorites and the grandparents are not in this episode-Dance Mania-when Theo and Cockroach try to get on Dance Mania.

Yeah that is a good one, I Also like Theo's Prom episode with Adam Sandler, and the one where They all pretend Theo is out on his own and Cliff plays the Landlord. Most of my favorites focus around Theo.

I agree with the exception of the grandparents and Vanessa's hair those two things were ok. But as for Olivia and pam :nonono: they just didn't fit.

Actually, I liked both of Cliff's and Claire's parents, I thought they were funny! I also agree with Cockroach, he was so funny when he and Theo would scheme together on something, Theo's college friends were boring compared to Cockroach!

I HATED the Pam episodes, I HATED Vanessa's afro because it did nothing for her, I HATED any episode that was devoted entirely to Olivia's trying to get her way with anything (don't get me wrong, she's cute as a button, but I prefer Rudy anyday because Keisha and I are the same age in real life)!

OMG, I KNOW!! I can take a lot o' silly sitcom stuff, but even I flip the channel when that 'un comes on...

And I liked the grandparents, and Olivia, but even though Vanessa is my favorite character (Claire 2nd), I have to admit, I do not support that big ol' weird 'fro---how long did she have that on there, anyway?

I agree with about Olivia, She was just annoying.

The episode where the men are pregnant, that was just really disturbing.

I liked the grandparents and I didn't mind Pam.

These were my issues with The Cosby Show:
The excessive male bashing that went on, i.e. Clair's sister when she was about to get married. Clair and her mom took her in the kitchen to mainly give her a view of men and making them look like monsters. Even Rudy got caught up in the male bashing. Just watch her interaction with Kenny. "You got to earn my love," HELLO writers what does a child know about earning love.

After season two the show became a sociology lesson and less entertaining.

Too adult like dialogue that they gave Rudy, after she hit puberty, and a very young Olivia. Especially Olivia. It got outright annoying to hear her speak too much like a grown up.

Cliff's obsession of getting his kids out of the house. The last three seasons of the show constantly have him talking about getting them out.

Hey! Why is everyone against Olivia? I agree, the adult dialogue was too much, but she dosn't always talk like that. All the Cosby kids were smart mouths at one point, especially Rudy when she got older...I thought Olivia's character was cute..

I didnt like Pam that much

The pregnant men episode was absouletly stupid

I liked Olivia a lot. For years we were seeing this little cute Rudy, but suddenly she's all grown up, it's nice to see another little cute addition to the household.

The grandparents were okay.. not good not bad

I beg to differ. I liked that pregnant episode. It was funny. Some of the dream sequence eps are just to have fun. Roseanne, however went too far with it.

Yes. Can you believe he was fired because Bill wanted him to get a haircut and he refused? If Bill wanted to be like that, he should have fired Vanessa for her awful hair! What a putz.

That's why I think it was something else behind cockroach leaving because Vanessa had that ******** looking afro and theo's hair was not that low.

I agree with every reason that SOLOMON stated was wrong with the Cosby show as well as mstewart.
The show was great until it swelled to a cast of thousands....husbands, stepkids, cousins, twins, you name it. I hated the last few years of the show.
I also couldn't stand the grandparents. They are reach for the remote characters if I ever saw any.

Yes I agree Janice, I always grabbed the remote when the grandparents were on the show. I feel the grandparents slowed the show down.

If you thought Pam was ghetto, you definitely haven't been around a lot of "ghetto" people. Pam was not really ghetto in my opinion. She acted like a lot of typical black people. But, I will agree she didn't fit in with the family. The Cosbys were a little too conservative. But, Pam was real smart and did good things. If you recall the episode where she went to the Cosby parents because she was upset that even though she had good grades she would not get into college because she couldn't afford it. She was so upset and the Cosbys said they would help out. Also, there was an episode where her and her friends (Charmaine and her boyfriend) helped the older ladies that shopped at this supermarket. The supermarket was overpricing items and the ladies couldn't afford anything. Pam and her friends picketed the supermarket. Do you call that ghetto...if you do....I don't know where you grew up.

Olivia was so annoying. They brought her in to replace Rudy because Rudy was getting too old to play the little girl. That was a bad idea to bring her in. But I do like Raven Symone.

Uhhhhh, yes they did

id have to agree w/ dianechambers87 on this one. even tho olivias character wasnt like rudy, its obvious the creaters of the show wanted another little kid around the house so they could write episodes revolving around things little kids do, such as when olivia put crayons in the washing machine. and for all you die hard raven and olivia fans reading this, im not sayin olivias character was unimportant to the show, i think it added something and raven is also a very talented actress

On The E! THS, The Cosby Kids, they said that Olivia was added to the show because Rudy went from a 5 to a 10 year old and couldn't just make cute faces and giggle all the time anymore.
Bill Cosby is a natural with small children--he even has that Kids Say the Darndest Things....
He needed an adorable child to do that bit he does....Keisha outgrew the role, so they brought in Raven.
Bringing new babies and children onto shows to fill gaps and breathe new life into them has been happening for years and years.

I am not saying that Olivia's character was unimportant, But she did come in to replace the now older Rudy. If Rudy had stayed the same age for the entire run then they would have never added Olivia.

I just feel a new younger child was not needed when all the original kids aRE practically adults. Rudy didn't need another replacement because kids get older.

I thought that if they needed a replacement for the once 3 year old rudy, it was time for it to end..... I don't really think that adding people was going to make it better or a difference. Although I must be blunt and say out front that I didn't really like cousin pam....IMHO

yea, i have to agree with sitcom analyzer, it was funny, but that's the one episode i can't watch fo too long.it does put the W in the weird.
The replacement of Olivia did help the show, because like others have said bill has a natural funny repor with younger children. That's why when olivia came into the picture the ratings went back up.( aside from the re-addition of denise).

Olivia definitely wasn't my favorite character either, but I thought it was funny when she talked like a grown-up sometimes; and especially Cliff's expressions after she did it. This is funny; the time where she'd been telling stupid jokes, and she goes "...And for my next joke--" Then Cliff; "No no, no more 'next joke'. These jokes are not funny, you're just saying things that don't make sense...." etc. Sorry, that came from nowhere; cracks me up, though.

I agree that the episode with the men giving birth to sub sandwiches and sodas, boats and all other kinds a crap was pretty silly...the only thing that was funny was how they treated Theo like an un-wed mother and when the men were doing exercises:lol:

The one charcter that really got on my nerves was Olivia....she was cute and all but i think too many episodes reflected on her and that got boring. Plus i think it was strange that they would leave Olivia with grandparents that she barely knew and that they didn't mind:confused:
As far as Pam i liked her on the show .....i would take Pam over Olivia anyday:)
