View Full Version : The Show Going Downhill?
BingAling889 02-09-2003, 12:52 AM Throughout the run of the show, I've stayed fairly attentive. But now, with all these changes (Winfred-Louder becoming a dot-com company, the geeky new bosses, the "high tech" offices, Kate's departure, perky blonde chick as the replacement, etc.), the show seems to be falling apart. I'm sort of losing interest in it all together.
And moving it to the Monday time slot, then to FRIDAY was a baaaaad idea IMHO.
Frasier W. Crane 02-09-2003, 01:13 AM Thank you captain obvious! LOL...That wasn't ment to be rude :D yes, it is going down hill...and fast. Its gotten bad after each ep...I have no clue why ABC renewed it.
MasterL 02-09-2003, 08:48 PM I totally agree with you I watched one episode this season and I was so totally disgusted with it. I really don't like that Kate left she was my fav. Oh and just for your info the blonde chick is Cynthia Watros from Titus.
Much Love
Cynthia Watros is the only good addition to the show this season.
This once funny sitcom is dying fast, and there is no way ABC will honor the contract that keeps it on the air for two more seasons.
I would think Drew Carey would have some common sense and realize that the show is a mere shadow of its former self and end things before he loses his entire audience.

I had no idea any of that happened, boy I havne't watched it in a while..I only watched re-runs on the WB, but I felt after mimi got drew locked in an institution for a couple of episodes, it was going downhill major then. ((does explain why "Kate" is now on Scrubs -on NBC is it?))
Sheesh, the reruns on the WB were mostly awesome tho... :)
Freakzilla 02-16-2003, 11:51 AM Actually, next season is the last year of ABC's 4-year contract with "Drew Carey". ABC also made the same deal with "Whose Line" in 2000. Perhaps ABC should have gotten out of their "Drew Carey" deal and doubled up on "Whose Line" instead. After "America's Funniest Groin Injuries", a full hour of "Whose Line" might do slightly better in the ratings. Or at least keep the costs down on Fridays.
Maras 02-16-2003, 09:14 PM I thought the Drew Carey show really went downhill once Drew married 2 women [Nicki and Kate]. Then after that, the show just got unrealistic. Remember how Kate beat Drew up in a Matrix-like fight scene.
I mean, Drew's a nice guy, he would never do that! And I choose to believe that those episodes never happened!
But now that Winfred Louders is no longer a store, Steve divorced Mimi [I heard], and Kate's gone, and moving it to Friday's...Drew Carey is doing what Roseanne did.

Yeah, it's called sucking.
Maras 02-19-2003, 09:24 PM It's called turning a funny, realistic show into something that later displeases the fans. "Jumping the shark" probably, might it be called.

nimrod_86 02-28-2003, 10:37 PM I can't even watch the show anymore, I've tried and I just can't stomach it.
