View Full Version : I can't believe this is actually happening
dawsongirl 02-08-2003, 05:49 PM My mom just told me that last night, my dad actually told her he didn't like her. She said, "You don't like me or my family, do you?" And that SOB just said yes.
If I had not gone to my room to cry into my pillow and would have heard that, I swear I would have tried to beat the hell out of him. We've not seen eye to eye several times, just like any father and daughter, but that went too far. I honestly hate him. I've never been this mad in my life.
Brandon 02-08-2003, 05:53 PM uh, who's 'he'?
sorry to hear that. Is this your father that you speak of:confused:

Oh, sorry. My dad.
Janice 02-08-2003, 05:56 PM Sorry for your troubles Dawsongirl. Often people say things they don't mean in the heat of anger, but that was a low blow no matter how you look at it.
Brett Ferino 02-08-2003, 06:00 PM i feel sorry for you dawson girl
Brandon 02-08-2003, 06:04 PM omg... i hate dads!! my dad is a pothead who lives in colarado... i hate him... i feel your pain. :(
Hollow 02-08-2003, 06:08 PM I hope he didnt mean that. :( About 3 years ago my mom had depression and she took me and my brother away from my dad to live in a safe house and then in an apartment, but in a few months she calmed down and we got back to normal.
pandora_spocks 02-08-2003, 06:11 PM i'm sorry dawsongirl! :(
if it makes you feel better my dad doesn't even like me, but i don't like him either so the feeling is mutual. my parents are always arguing, i should consider moving out.

My dad is like that too. My dad and i dont really get along. And at the moment, my parents are in the process of getting a divorce. My dad plans on leaving New york to go to florida w/ his mistress, which pisses me off to no end. and then he has the audacity to say to my mom "I dont care how many kids we have or how old they are. I have to do things for myself." My dad is so selfish. So dont feel like you're the only one that stuff like this happens to. I dont know u and you dont know me but if ya need to talk, I'm here.
Titania 02-08-2003, 06:18 PM thats rough, i hope things get better for you dawsongirl :(

Yea, I said the same exact thing a couple months ago and you gave me this huge lecture and asked me how I can possibly hate my parents. Pretty odd you can go from that to this now.
JDS84 02-08-2003, 07:44 PM I'm sorry :(
Sam Malone 02-08-2003, 08:07 PM Dawsongirl:
Sorry... I know how you must feel. I sympathize with you very much. I know how people can just do that; my own father said about the same thing when I was six. I always loved my father though, especially since I found out he's dying of cancer. He's almost 6' 5" right now, yet weighs 147#. I am 6' 3" and weigh 155#, and I'm a sack of bones...
Right now, I can see how you must be angry, but you'll realize, one day, that all that was said out of anger for him, and not said by YOU, but by your ANGER. Follow me?
Again, I'm truly, deeply sorry.
DarleneIllyria 02-08-2003, 09:12 PM Cathy, I'm so sorry. :( If you ever need to talk, just PM me.
*PinkLady* 02-08-2003, 09:23 PM I thought my dad was bad...but he's never said that to me or my mom. I'm really sorry, Cathy. :(
Nanny Fine 02-08-2003, 10:07 PM I'm sorry :(
I grew up with a father who was emotionally and verbally abusive. I'm 33 years old now and I have 0 self esteem and I can't maintain a relationship with a man because I have absolutely no trust in them. My daughter is almost 8 and her father has never been in her life. We have to have courts threaten jail time to get child support (and even then we are lucky to get paid) and she says a lot now that she wishes she had a dad. I know how he is and I know how I grew up and quite frankly she's much better off. I dont want her to grow up like I did. I wish I could go back to when I was young and not let myself be affected the way I was and am still today. You have to rise above it and become a better person from it. I hope I can do that someday. I have a long way to go.
Good luck to you.
Camillian 02-08-2003, 10:08 PM Sorry to hear that

Same here. My mother is going through menopause or something right now, actually seems to have been going through it for almost three years now. It's not just me, either. Even her friend wonders what her problem is. She has these mood swings almost every day. My dad and I get along very well. It's been like that for as long as I can remember, which would be since I was three years old. I can actually remember having only one fight with my dad once. Whereas having fights with my mom? Countless times.
And, I hope things get better for you, dawsongirl. It's rough having parents that fight.
dawsongirl 02-08-2003, 10:49 PM Thanks so much guys. It's nice to know there are nice people in this world. :)
