I need to tell you of some exciting news and something that we must do ASAP if we want to see FKB come out on DVD sometime soon.

I heard recently that Sony Pictures was having an online vote as to which shows it should put out on DVD next. It has a list of some 20 shows, and Father Knows Best is one of them. I'll give you the link to this page at in a moment.

I thought long and hard about whether or not to post this info here at Sitcoms Online. My thought was that if I posted the link here, the few of us who like FBK would go vote for it, but potentially a bunch of youngsters would find out and go vote for a bunch of crap instead of FBK, and seriously outweigh our votes.

Well, my decision was made for me. On the "General Sitcoms" page of this site, someone went ahead and posted the link and of course the youngsters came out of the woodworks and have already been to Sony's site and voted. And if you look at the thread, as they all tell us what they voted for, you'll see that my fears were realized - not one person voted for FBK! Not one!

Ok, we've got to get busy and vote. Please go to www.sonypictures.com/cthe/tv/poll/ (http://www.sonypictures.com/cthe/tv/poll/) and vote quickly and often (if it will allow multiple votes).

Ahh! You're post reminded me of the 5th one I voted for. Father Knows Best.

LOL.

I couldn't remember the 5th one I voted for, and that was it. I'm a "youngster" (between 18-25) and I think the show is great. I definitely voted for it, since it seems like TVL has no intentions of getting more episodes.

I glad to hear at least you voted for it. I'm not that old either (37) and the show was long gone before I was even born. But I did have the privilege of growing up on shows like FBK when I was a kid.

It surely deserves to be put out on DVD. It's never been released on VHS, and as you say, TVLand shows no signs of actually carrying the entire run. Pity.
