I had someone email me this morning with an offer for "trade". The offer was I'll send you money for shipping, you send me your originals, I copy them and send them back to you. Now I'm not trying to be rude but I would not even let my mother use my original tapes (She threw away boxes of tapes I had when I moved out from home of Days of OUr Lives, Our House, other TV shows, etc) and I would never ever send them in the mail.
Have any of you ever gotten that kind of offer and would you send out your originals to a stranger??

Nope, I don't see a reason for it. You can make a copy for him yourself and that should suffice. I've not ever been asked to do this for someone before, nor would I expect anyone to do it for me. Just my two cents :)

and boy would I lose out in that deal, I could lose my main copy and I wouldn't get anything in return!
I hope I didn't offend this person when I said sorry, but even my mom doesn't get my tapes ;-)

I've sent original tapes to people to copy for themselves, but yeah, i wouldn't readly hand them off to a stranger unless i didnt want them back. i have offered to let people borrow first gen sets of tv series for a heafty damage deposit ---- that usually drives them away :)

If it were for something like FRIENDS that I could easily replace it might not be any deal but it was for something that I can't replace, or replace handily, so no way. Damage Deposit :) So for $200 you can borrow my tapes....LOL
