I just had.........like the best night of my life. I know you hate these kinds of off-topic posts, but I wanted to share, lol. Anyway, the title of the thread is the name of the play we're doing in drama club this year and it's basically about a group of young college students in a community college in a small town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts with various learning disabilities such as dislexia, ADHD, and brain damage. Well, we were performing the dress rehearsal on Wednesday afternoon for some of the special ed kids from the high school and the junior high, as well as the drama class at the junior high. Well after we performed tonight, out director told us about one of the kids that was in the junior high special ed class. He had no clue that it was a play, so he assumed that all of us had these disabilities in real life. So he went up to his teacher and told her that he knows how we all feel and understands where we were coming from when we were getting angry and frustrated. When we heard this, we thought it was like the sweetest thing ever and it just made you feel so good about yourself, and that your actually portraying a believable character. Just makes you think what kind of an impact you can have on some people, it's so amazing sometimes and you don't even realize it. Sorry if it was too preachy of a post, but I just felt like sharing. :)

That is really cool. Really neat how that kid could relate. Makes you stop and think, huh? You guys must be some pretty convincing actors and actressses to touch that kid like that. Good job.

Actually we don't think that we're even that great. I mean to us, we're just mediocre, but after hearing things like that, it really does make you stop and think.

Bravo! You're obviously better actors than you give yourself credit for. And it's great that your play touched someone. More drama should be that moving instead of just fluff.
