LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - It's all about the ties that bind over at The WB's Wednesday-night supernatural drama "Angel." The show's plotline may have the world facing ultimate destruction, but love is in the air on set.

Star David Boreanaz and wife Jamie Bergman, who wed in 2001, are happy parents to their firstborn son, Jaden.

"It's fantastic," says Boreanaz of parenthood. "He's eight-and-a-half months. He's about 27 pounds. Yeah, he's a big boy. He came out 8 pounds, 9 ounces."

"[His looks] are a great combination, really. He's got certain aspects where people say or looks like me or looks like Jamie. It all depends on how you're looking at him."

"He's got a great personality. He's all over the place. He's really curious, smiles a lot. And he sleeps through the night. He's a blessing."

Meanwhile, Charisma Carpenter, who plays Cordelia, is wed to longtime love Damian Hardy and is eight-months-and-a-couple-of-weeks pregnant with her first child.

"I'm glad I've had work to stay distracted," says Carpenter, who has been steadily shooting episodes, "because I feel more grounded. I feel great and actually kind of invigorated, which is unusual. I find myself having more energy, and yet, my body, at this stage, is not wanting to keep up with my energy level."

"Angel" co-creator and executive producer Joss Whedon is also enjoying new fatherhood, as his wife Kai Cole gave birth to a son last December.

Co-star Alexis Denisof, who plays Wesley, is recently engaged to Alyson Hannigan, whom he met on the set of "Angel's" sister series and predecessor, UPN's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," where she plays Willow. That wedding is currently set for next fall.

But before that, Amy Acker, who plays Fred, is set to wed actor boyfriend James Carpinello on April 25 in a winery in Northern California's Napa Valley.

"Last year, it was everyone having babies," Acker says. "I don't know why. It's funny, because we all have had pretty serious relationships for a while. I'm from Texas, and I'm the last one of my friends from high school to get married. They're all like, 'All right, already.' So it doesn't seem too scary."

It seems Carpinello popped the question while Acker was visiting him in Australia on the set up the upcoming feature film "The Great Raid," starring Benjamin Bratt, Joseph Fiennes and James Franco. The tale of the proposal is a bit of a saga in itself.

"The whole time I was there," Acker says, "he was getting the ring FedExed from here to Australia. It was supposed to get there Monday, and I was leaving Thursday. Wednesday at noon, it still hadn't gotten there."

"He was calling FedEx, and they said, 'Oh, it's stuck in Customs in Sydney.' Benjamin Bratt was in the movie, and he was about to send his assistant on a plane to go to Sydney to pick it up, because it was eight hours away."

"But then, I guess, the Miramax people heard about it, so they sent their jet down there to pick up the ring and sign it from FedEx. They delivered it to the house at, like, 7:45 p.m., and we had dinner reservations at 8."

"So he was on the phone all day, and I was like, 'Oh, my God, is he cheating on me?' Because he was like, 'I've got to go downstairs to make a phone call.' And I'm like, 'Why? We always talk on the phone in front of each other.'"

"So it was really funny. Then it came, and I had no idea. It was great, on the beach, the full moon. It was very romantic."

As for the wedding, Acker says, "It's going to be 50 or under, real small, then we're just going to have a party and invite all our friends."

And the dress? "It's sort of, let's see, it's a little period, old, '30s or '40s Hollywood. It's real simple and floaty."

Thanks for posting this Jenny :) I've been sick these past few days I haven't been able to do much. I can't wait until Faith arrives! I wonder if they are going to keep her character the same on Buffy or change her a little.

Anyways thanks Jenny :)

Ugh, I know. A couple of my friends had it, but I haven't yet. I'm waiting for it to hit me though.

Yeah kind of. I got my wisdom teeth pulled last Wednesday and couldn't eat. I got the flu because of it. I'm getting better. :)

Yeah, it's nice to be able to eat ice cream every once in awhile. Unfortunately, you can get pretty sick of ice cream after awhile.
