What did you guys all think of “Growing up is Hard to Do” Personally I thought it was well worth the wait and defiantly one of the best Archie Bunker’s Place episodes. I thought it was both well written and well acted especially by Celeste Holm , Carroll O’Connor and Danielle Brisebois.

I thought it was an excellent episode. Every actor did a great job. I kind of wished that Martin Balsam had appeared on this episode. As somebody else mentioned, Murray was awfully close to Stephanie and I would think he would've been at the ceremony. Well, Martin wasn't in the episode, but I still thought it was good.

This was a great episode and one of the few ABP episodes to rise close to the AITF level. I was also thinking Martin should have guest starred (after all, Murray would have had to visit from time to time and I'm sure he would have wanted to attend Stephanie's Bat Mitzvah, he did make a guest appearance in the next season which is not on TVL episode list yet). I was also happy to hear Edith mentioned when Archie consoled Stephanie at the end.

These episodes were very strong and moving. Both parts were up to the level of All In The Family. This makes you wonder why this was kept out of syndication.

I thought that too. I mean, he was the big push in Stephanie's faith.

It was a great episode. The only thing i didnt understand is why when Stephanie was thanking people during the ceremony, Why wasnt Edith's name mentioned?

I really liked this episode....I think it's one of the best ABP episodes. Very well acted by Carroll O'Connor and Danielle Brisebois. The ending was sad, and yet, touching at the same time. This was well worth the wait.

It's been a long time since I have seen this episode. All I remember is some money tree and some man running off with it and this young girl(Stephanie) upset and saddened. I used to watch this @10:30am on WFTS 28(local) and crossover to WGN 9(Chicago)

This was Danielle Brisebois' personal favorite episode. I thought it contained a major flaw; when Stephanie was making her speech, she never thanked Aunt Edith. Who knows what would have happened to her if not for Edith. The Baines clan wanted nothing to do with her. And even Archie wasn't thrilled with Rosemarie at first.
This also felt like Stephanie's last episode. Yeah I know they threw her a bone here and there the final season and a half, but this was the final time she felt like an integral part of the cast and not an afterthought.

I loved this episode. If I had had a father like Floyd, I would have disowned him and never talked to him again. Archie was definitely the better man.
