View Full Version : Is it just me, or...
B&W fan 02-07-2003, 12:47 AM does anyone else think our DVD on DVD info has once again become very scarce. We've now gone over a month without any type of update on the progress of our long-awaited set, and with the recent news by one of the VP's at IMAGE (a company that manufactures many, many dvd sets) that the DVDS will be offered in seasonal sets sometime this year, I would think we'd hear about it from Doug.
What gives? I hate it when we go into the silent mode for more than a month. It just brings back bad thoughts about how long we had to wait inbetween updates last year.

MTM1Fan 02-07-2003, 02:08 AM Is it just me or do you ONLY come here to get info about DVD on DVD?
Seriously, B&W fan, you seem like a nice guy, and it'd be nice to hear more from you then just the usual "Come on, Doug, feed us with info."

Wow! Well, while I do plead guilty to keeping this topic open because it is near and dear to my heart, I wouldn't say it's the ONLY reason I come here, and it certainly isn't the ONLY topic I talk about.
Frankly, MTM1Fan, I have Doug's personal email address and we have corresponded on a semi-regular basis. So no, I don't come here to get info. But I do try to keep the subject alive because I thought others here were interested.

Thanks, Lolac. Sometimes these message boards can get old when sarcasm is used too much. And I see it all the time. Hey, there are nicer, more civil, ways of getting a point across. Why, I even believe we have the capacity here to send private emails to each other.
B&W "I love the show as much as anyone, and have posted about many different things since I first stumbled onto Sitcoms Online, and this DVDS forum in particular" fan
SawgrassSteve 02-07-2003, 02:58 PM B&W,
I agree about the sarcasm on message boards. We had someone not too long ago on this one posting derogatory things about one the characters on the show, and taunting us fans. Fortunately, TJ saw fit to ban them permanently, and erase their remarks. They only did it twice, but even that was too much.
I must say though, that this board is quite pleasant to come to and read, including MTM1Fan's postings (although I too find them somewhat "nippy," at times). I almost feel as if I sort of know the regulars, although I know that's impossible.

Steve,
You're correct about the overall tenor of this particular board. I enjoy the folks that post here, and like you, I kinda feel like I know them all.
I've never had any issues with MTM1Fan before, and always have enjoyed the posts by this person. That's why I was so shocked at the first sentence in MTM1Fan's response. I just didn't see that coming. It was too harsh, mean-spirited, and sarcastic for my liking. Hopefully, this stuff will be kept at a minimum. I want to have good posting relationships with everyone here.
B&W "I'm ready to put this behind me and move on" fan
MTM1Fan 02-07-2003, 08:32 PM Actually, if you read on, I was giving you a compliment. I want to hear more from you, B&W. I'm not saying you have to reply to every single topic, but it'd be nice to hear your opinions on things other than the DVD. And I do enjoy your posts about the updates on DVD, but, again, it'd be nice to hear a little more from you.
Can someone please give me an example of me getting "nippy" with someone? The only time I can think of was when someone came on here and was disrespectful to Rose Marie. Their post said something like "YUCK! Rose Marie's voice is horrible." I know that everyone is allowed their opinion, but when you present it like that, you don't deserve anyone's respect. Now, if that person would have posted something like "I don't like Rose Marie's voice because....", then I wouldn't have said anything.
B&W fan 02-07-2003, 10:43 PM MTM1Fan,
Thanks for the clarification. I did realize your second paragraph wasn't a slam, but an encouragement. I appreciated that. It was just that first sentence...
Anyway, I know I haven't posted as much on other topics as I used to. I'll try and enter in a bit more.
Thanks,
B&W "I'd like to discuss Laura's capri pants at length with Steve sometime" fan
SawgrassSteve 02-08-2003, 10:38 AM I'm up for a discussion of those Capris anytime, B&WFan!

That was the first thing that came to mind, MTM1Fan; and I get your point about that. There are a couple of other examples, but rather than list them, I'll concede I could be wrong. Sorry.
Sometimes a person can just plain misunderstand where another person is coming from. You may have just been brief, and to the point instead of "nippy." But then, some of my posts do run on too long!
