I know what you mean about SOLOMON. He actually tried arguing that Good Times was not a spinoff of Maude. He PM'd a friend of mine on here once and admitted that he sometimes post things just to see people get worked up. He does seem arrogant and I love when I put him in his place from time to time.

I agree, Jimmiegirl. I don't like Solomon too much either. It drives me nuts when people act like their opinion is the only one that matters and that everyone who disagrees with them is stupid. I used to post at another message board that was kinda like this one (entertainment related) and there were quite a few Solomons there. They made posting there miserable for the rest of us and the moderator did nothing. I remember two people in particular who hated Wings (Which I don't mind, because I know not everyone likes the show and I respect that.) and they would attack the few of us who did like the show and had a thread for it by saying that we were brainless and had bad taste in TV and stuff like that. There were also quite a few people there who tried to control all discussions and attacked people who didn't agree with them. Ugh! The boards were finally shut down by the on-line magazine that was hosting them.

Sorry for going waaay off-topic here, but I just can't stand people like that and I'm glad that very few people like that seem to post here. I think overall, people here, are friendly, open-minded, and respectful of others.

Kristen, are you talking about the People.com boards? I went there for a while, and I hated those obnoxious people to no end. It made me realize how tame these boards are - there's only a few Solomons here.

Yup, it was the People.com boards and before that, they were EW.com. There were some very nice people there. It's too bad the rude posters ruled and ruined that place.

Who did you post there as? I was KrissyMarie, then just Krissie.

I'm not surprised you were Krissie; I remember that she once posted the question, "What does a yellow light mean?" :lol: I don't know why I remember weird stuff like that.

I was criticized a lot there for my opinions too. Lord help you if you weren't a fan of Friends, Buffy, and a few other shows. I remember one woman in particular who jumped on almost every little thing I said. (She was one of the ones who called me a brainless idiot because I like Wings.) I don't even know why I posted there for as long as I did. It was awful there. This place is far better. At least we have the "Ignore User" function to ignore the people we can't tolerate.

I agree, I think this place is much, much, much better than a lot of other places. Like you guys said, there are far fewer annoying posters here so you can actually keep them in check.

I think part of it is due to good, competent moderators. TJ and Pavanbadal expect everyone to follow the same rules, they don't take sides or play favorites, and they actually enforce the rules and ban the people who choose not to follow them. Also, a lot of the people here seem to refuse to put up with the kind of immature crap that you see at other sites, like the now defunct EW/people.com boards.

That's a very good point. Anybody else hate the random posts on chit chat? I know this is a random thread, but let's face it, for the most part it's just us.

They don't bother me that much. What bugs me are the people who just post random things to raise their post total. I know a couple of people around here, like Ralph Malph Ricardo and LucyFan do that quite a bit. I really don't see what's so great or important about having a lot of posts. I think quality is more important than quantity.

Then, there are the people who can't seem to put a coherent sentence together.

Ah.....uh, just to clear everything up, I'd like to apologie if I've ever acted really cliquey. I really don't mean to do it since I hate them to death in real life, but sometimes I can get carried away with it in the action. I like posting in the random thread because it's kinda like a big chat room. Like here....only some people can like post 30 pages a day and then I just can't keep up. (Which annoys me when you make like 200 pages in 3 days.) Now I usually just post in that at night with Cathy (dawsongirl) so I'm not as into it as I was before. But like I said, I just wanted to apologize about if I ever ticked any of you off. :blush:

Actually, the only thing that pissed me off that once was when someone posted a random thread (couple months ago) and Caitlin said that it only works if "certain people" start them...(better known as HER). Umm.. IMO a random thread is a random thread and by saying it only works with certain people is shallow if you ask me.

I was just over at that post and it really upset me. But I'm not very good with words when I get mad, so I just got wise. Anyways, I know you know this already, but "Wings" and "Taxi" are two of my favorite shows. And yeah, I think they're better than those shows SOLOMON likes (some are "Sanford and Son, Three's Company, The Jeffersons). He keeps going to the "Ellen" section and tells me how that show's not entertaining and that no channel will ever air it again. I never go to a show's site I don't like just to knock it or it's viewers. I don't see why other people feel they need to hurt others.

I never go to fan boards to diss the show and its viewers either. I've met quite a few solomon's at other message boards. They're not fun people to deal with. I think the best way to deal with them is to just ignore them.

Taxi was on in my area for a couple of weeks, but now it seems to have disappeared again :( I hope it gets released on DVD soon, along with Wings. I can't believe those two aren't out yet, especially since they're supposedly releasing all 7 episodes of My Big Fat Greek Life :barf:

For the past two Saturdays the WB11 in NYC has aired two of my all time favorite eps. Rev. Jim a Space odysee and the one where Elaine's boyfriend hits on Tony.

That's not fair. :lol: My local stations won't show anything except the Simpsons and Drew Carey.

Hey everyone :wave: I will definitely buy Taxi when it comes out on DVD. Great show. It's a great addition to everyone's DVD collection.

Thanks to the DVD of Taxi, my nights are going to be happier. I've tried many times to tape the entire series off of N@N, but never got them all. Then I tried on TV Land, but didn't get them. This will be great to get. The second season is the set I'm the most excited to buy. That season includes the infamous "Reverend Jim: A Space Odyssey". I liked season one, and I'm one of the few who liked John Burns. But I enjoy season two more. I intend to buy Taxi and Happy Days on the first day theu come out. As for Bosom Buddies and Mork & Mindy, I can wait a while before I buy them, but I probably will buy them, too.
