Yea, I agree. I think it would be REALLY sick for somebody to just sell it. However, if NASA was selling it to provide for those ppl's families...I'd support that.

Ditto. I think that it should be Illegal for person(s) to sell peices of the Shuttle on eBay. it is government property and may provide evidence to exactly why that Shuttle exploded.
AnaheimPMWitch 02-04-2003, 10:57 PM My Opinion is YES it should be illegal (OH WAIT but it already is isnt it) anyways its government property and it should Not be sold for your own enjoyment that in my eyes is wrong
AllIWantIsYourClutch 02-04-2003, 11:17 PM And aside from all that, it can be radiated and dangerous too.

Oh my god.. I am going to pretend like you didn't just say that.
I can't.. that is the most stupid thing I have ever heard you say, Rainman. How the **** did anyone like you ever make it to 12th grade? ..just shows how ****ed up this country's school system is.
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 02-05-2003, 12:43 AM Im going to ignore all of RM's posts due to his highly racist marks.
Anyways.. umm.. IMO, I see nothing wrong with selling it. But, like it was said before.. if it was for charity purposes.
*ShortCake* 02-05-2003, 12:50 AM I think its sick that they are selling it..

I'm so sick to death of you and was going to ignore this post, but can't. You don't even know the friggen reason why it exploded do you? Oh, you just think that an Iraqi terrorist was fiddling around with the instruments and decided to kill himself and 6 others in Texas. God, what the hell what your mother smoking when she was pregnant with you? Or better yet, she just dropped you on your head a few times as a child, didn't she?
The reason it exploded was because some of the insulation had fallen off the rocket when it was taking off, and when they were trying to re-enter earth's atmosphere, the rocket couldn't take all the heat that was hitting it and without that insulation, exploded. God, do you think that the Challenger explosion was caused by terrorists too?!? I'm so sick of people blaming every single tragedy that happens to our country on terrorists JUST because of 9/11. Americans are horrible people too Nate, take you for example.

The sad thing is that Nate is not in the minority. There are millions of Americans with the same mentality as him, and that's just sad.

That's an awfully cruel statement. Seven people lost their lives, and you're accusing one of them of being a terrorist.
I know you intentionally stir up trouble for your own savage amusement, but this one crosses the line. Even if you're joking, it's a terrible thing to say. Shame on you.
I'll never have a shred of respect for you from this point on.
I haven't had a shred of respect for this gluton for attention for several months now. But most of you all just keep replying to his inane and rude subject posts. If his comment about the deceased astronaut is not enough to turn y'alls stomachs then I don't know what it will take.

Yeah, and that too!
Halex 02-06-2003, 05:59 PM I think it would be disrespectful to the astronauts and their families if ebay were to sell the shuttle. People need time to adapt to this tragedy and mourn with loved ones. They don't need to see an advertisement for the ship that exploded when they go to the internet. That would just be cruel. And, about that comment Rainman made about the Iraqi astronaut, that's racist. I think TJ should ban Rainman from these boards. If Rainman can't say anything nice or intelligent then what is the point of him posting?
Camillian 02-06-2003, 08:09 PM Of course!

JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 02-06-2003, 10:53 PM all you people that said "they should be allowed to, or i don't care"... on Sept 15th.. would it be OK for people to sell pieces of the WTC incident on ebay?
Didn't think so.

That is the MOST asinine thing I have ever seen/heard!
Number 1: There are already plans in effect for people who have VALID claims from damage done.
Number 2: WHO THE HELL WERE YOU REFERING TOO? There were 6 American's and an Israeli...I don't see an Iraqi there at all.
Ya know...it's people like you that give American's a bad name! You need to get all your facts correct before you go spouting your mouth off with information that is incorrect!
D
Ags2000 02-06-2003, 11:29 PM Oh and by the way, they are prosecuting people for taking pieces of the shuttle. Two people have been arrested here in Texas for taking some pieces.

You are so rude and completely racist. Ok, that Israeli lost their life JUST like all the other Americans on board. Their FRIENDS and FAMILIES suffered just like the American's families did! My god, that person goes up in space, they SHOULD be considered some sort of hero but NO, all ppl talk about is, "OH!! It's a person from Israel, o, let's just BLAME it on them." Their were SIX other astrounauts on board...if that ONE person just HAPPENED to be doing something ya think they would've done SOMETHING to stop it? And ya kno what...not ALL ppl from the Middle East are bad ppl. Just look at America...we have the nice ppl that care about the world...and o lookie we have the KKK.
Did NEbody even think before they started pinning accusations on the Israeli person? For all we kno it was some other astrounaut on board who made it crash, doing it for some sick unknown reason. (I kno it wasn't NEbody's fault on board, and I kno what I said above isn't tru, I'm just using it as an example)
It's a TRAGEDY what happened, and it's SO sick that American's are so PIG-HEADED and RACIST that they look for the ONE person who doesn't match up to their standards and blame it on them. Some ppl in America are just so sickening and their are times that I'm ashamed to be a citizen here...ESPICIALLY when racist ppl blame things on ppl that are innocent.
Yea...so Rainman...if you wanna be racist, I'm not stopping ya. POST something about it tho, and I'll argue for hours. I'm not on the debate team for nothing. AND YA KNO WHAT'S WORSE?! When a lil 13 year old girl has more respect for a tragedy and for people then you do. People can't live in the world thinking everyone in different countries are bad. The ppl that think that are the bad "evil" ppl.
Hershey 02-07-2003, 10:49 AM Rainman-
Where the hell do you get off critiseing people? You never even knew the Israli and you assume he would kill others? The man was a National Hero in his country and I think you should show alittle respect for the man and everyone else on board that shuttle. You have no right to be that disrespectful. And I doubt that the Israli would kill himself (suicide bomber) because he was such an icon in his home country. He loved being a National Hero and a symbolic man in Israel.(and i dunno what was he a ruler?) He couldnt wait to go into space and if NASA suspected anything of that sort then they would have had his a$s and not let him go on the mission. So before you assume something-get the facts striaght.
(Dont even post a resposne dising the India born woman or I swear to the man above us that you will be reading a ration of ***** from me.)You must have low self esteem.)
Hershey 02-07-2003, 10:54 AM I think the pieces (small ones) should go to family members so they can have one last momento from their loved ones. It could be a little memorial to them.
Tuesday Weld 02-07-2003, 11:08 AM Among other things,it is just plain tacky to sell it.I also think it is exploiting the situation.

Well, true, but what about the fact that the pieces are contaminated/contain hazardous material?
Hershey 02-07-2003, 03:12 PM They might be able to de-cantaminate(sp?) the pieces.
Kay Scarpetta 02-07-2003, 03:20 PM I think it's just plain damn rude. I mean, come on. In my opinion, that's just really disrespectful. Making money off of an international tragedy?
