Hey, when it was cigarretts being advertised for kids, the Marlboro Man was the mascot. Now for fast food advertising towards kids, it's Ronald McDonald thats the mascot.
Hey, is Ronald McDonald the Marlboro Man of fast food now?

Sadly, that may very well be the case. It's a shame because all these kids won't think about whether fast food is good for them or not and will give in to the media when they see commercials for all the fast food places.

I don't think McDonald's should be taken to the extreme of cigarettes, but I do see some similarities. Especially with all these lawsuits from people complaining that fast food made them fat. People will sue for just about anything these days.

I can see your point but I still wouldn't go so far as to compare fast food with cigarettes.
Cigarettes are very obviously damaging to your health and can cause all manner of diseases but I've been eating junk food all my life and I'm not overweight and I'm not unfit.
I guess it's all down to the quanity and the regularity that people consume these products. I eat quite a lot of junk food but I don't actually overeat so I don't gain weight. Similarly, I do smoke on occasion but I don't do it all the time and so I'm not addicted to it. Conversely, I do drink a lot and so I find myself actually needing a drink every day.
I guess it's just routine and habit - if you eat a load of McDonalds then you will get fat and you will get unfit. It's not the fault of McDonalds - it's the fault of the person cramming Big Macs into their face on a daily basis!
