just wondering------!!!

Nothing fancy at all - I put the long label on and give the inner labels to my daughter :) I put the tape number on the label and in a log on my computer I put the tape number and what shows are on that tape.

I made fancy labels for my Hallmark Bewitched tapes. It's got the actual Hallmark logo and the actual Bewitched logo. And under that it lists all the episodes (with #'s) on the tape. It's quite a sight! Actually, I'm just too lazy to keep fast forwarding to find a certain episode that way I have it labeled and I can find it fast. I used a program called 'Print Shop Pro' because it can make tape labels and such. It's a really old program now though, and I made the graphics in Adobe Photoshop 7.
I'm starting to do this for all my tapes 'cause I have close to 100 or so of them. :wave:

That comment made me chuckle because I think I have like...100 tapes in my LIVING room. My upstairs is stacked with tapes all over ~ closets, walls, floors, shelves. :)

I'd like to make fancy labels for when I trade tapes but I dont have a printer so I can't do that!

a lot of my tapes are labeled with painters tape (.25 a roll at walmart)
i do this because it leaves no residue.
i can label something "temporarily"
this way. I often label tape trade tapes like this.

By painters tape, i mean the stuff you can put around the trim when painting so you dont mess the trim up. very nice - i prefer it to post its and index cards, since those can slide out, leaving me wondering whats on the tape.

when the tape is finished, if its mine, i can label it permanently with the stickers that were included.

:lol: You should see my room! Most of the tapes I have are from the early 90s and I never labeled anything so I don't know whats on them. I have to go through them all and label them. I swear I had a bigger room then, now the cat hardly fits in here. j/k.

Speaking of 'temporarily' labeling, DetectiveGriffin, I usually use a piece of notebook paper write all the episode titles and numbers down and fold the paper in half and tape it to the tape before I get around to making the fancy labels on my computer. It's probably a waste of time, but at least it pasts the time!

i dont usually lable either but i should start cuz i cant find half of my shows that iam looking for lol. some of my tapes are labled though i just use regular lable that comes with the videos

I usually put all the content on the long label and the label to put on the tape. I am trying to convert my entire collection onto SP, so I have space on the rectangular label to put all four or five shows on that tape.

I just label them regularly, on the face & spine of the cassette. I used to only use the face label, because I thought it looked more "professional" but now I use the spine labels as well, because it makes it so much easier to find the tape you want than to have to slide them out of boxes all the time...I'd love to make those personalized labels too! Basically all I record right now is Kate & Allie (I almost have the entire series!), figure skating, and sometimes odd & end vintage cartoons on Cartoon Network that they run early Saturday morning...other than that, I'm not recording much these days...

I have all my tapes labeled,or atleast have a piece of paper in each tape with the episode number and what order they are in.I know what is on every single tape I have.If I get a tape or tapes in trade,that dont have the papaer with them i catalog right away and make up a sheet,sometimes it's a pain to take 1 hour to catalog one tape,but I have to know.

All my complete serous or near complete are commercial free,I buy used blochbuster cases froma guy on ebay,they are the hard cases.I make my own "cover art" and slide it in the sleeve on the hard case.

Most shows have around 24/25 episodes per season,I just divide it by 2 and make 2 tapes per season,sometimes if a show has 20 or less episodes per season ill use an 8 hour tape.when Im going for a whole serous,as soon as I have half a season,I make my final commercial free tape on expensive high grade tapes.

As soon as i finish my three's company Im gonna offer my all in the family three's company masters for trade,someone's gonna get a deal if they have stuff I need,cause I have around 30(atleast)masters available,all im gonna ask is around 50 episodes of shows I need or 4 tapes worth.

This actually reminds me of an instance where I didn't label a tape...back in summer 2000, when TV Land would air rare series on Saturday nights, I recorded Delta, Madame's Place, Phyllis etc..and I can not find the tape to save my life! I have narrowed it down to about 10 tapes, but I HATE having to scan through a whole tape and look for content, but those are pretty good shows..I'll have to keep looking...
